“Life is more beautiful and more livable when nothing is perfect...I like deliberate imperfection.” — Noz Nozawa, interior designer

P.S. I’m pretty sure @mskariuki1234 is flawless, but this quote is my new life mantra

While this project has become the bane of my existence, I do still love playing with all these different textures💙⠀
.⠀
.⠀
I started this 6ftx10ft tapestry situation in February with the intention of having it done for an event being put on by @sometimesarthouse on April 17th. Clearly due to quarantine that event was cancelled and my poor wrists got a break from hand weaving yarn through this rug hooking base😅⠀
.⠀
.⠀
At this point I’m hoping to get it done by August so I can continue to work on other pieces for the portfolio I’m building to apply to grad school AND put it in some cool #SAH installations for all the beautiful events we’ll put on when all of this is over💗💗

This past Friday I had the opportunity to participate in a zine workshop & learn from the amazing @kindaculture at the @sometimesarthouse Visionz of the End of the Civilized World event! ⚡️I have never made a zine like this and it was so much fun (I’ll have to do more like this!) and everyone who turned out was so kind :,) Thank you to those that showed up & those that kept us safe by sitting this one back. 💛 #fridaythe13th #zine #zineworkshop #covid_19 #coronavirus #art #thetaxpayers #medecine #RCAHronavirus

We will not be cancelling Visionz. Based on registration, our capacity will be under 100 guests, as Gov. Whitmer advised. All we ask is if you’re sick or live with someone with a low immunize system, please sit this one out. Hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes will be on hand. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
The facts are Bernie lost Michigan, and many of us are experiencing depression, loneliness and anxiety. We already live in an isolated world. Now is the time to connect and find solutions. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Come hang and let’s make zines to channel whatever you’re feeling. Free tarot readings for Pisces!

Due to unforeseen circumstances with the pandemic, senior recitals are cancelled. I really appreciate my band, my classmates, and my profs for their support. I wish we could all celebrate together but being safe is the #1 priority!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In the meantime please enjoy some photos I took with @sometimesarthouse to promote my recital. She did an amazing job and there will be more to come✨✨✨⁣⁣ I was going to honor black heroines of literature for my recital, so read some Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, ijeoma Umebinyuo and Amina Gautier while we stay at home
