Living Patagonia! On this day I took my friends from Florida out on a tour of the Reloncavi estuary in Chile for them to experience a few hours of what traditional fishing used to be like when I was my son’s age. The wind was cold and the rain was icy…the weather took me right to the days when I used to go out to catch dinner with my uncles! Using mussles, I showed them how to use them for bait. The boys managed to catch a fish each which was great! My friends enjoyed the experience…feeling the Patagonian cold was revitalizing! Great activity to do for those who visit my home area in Chile for a bit of “cultural immersion”

Because around here, we know that From The Ashes isn’t just about where you’ve been.

It’s about what you do with where you are now.

Wyoming was a healing and beautiful trip to transition into the next phase of life with. When I was here six years ago for the first time, I had just moved from Pennsylvania and my whole life was up in the air. It feels good to return to a place I love with the people I love.

While my fishing and landing skills were incredibly rusty from too much time spent working and not fishing, it felt great to get back on the water and work on getting my husband further addicted to the tug.

Time spent with old friends and new in a beautiful place is always the answer to clear your head.

Thank you to @windriverflyfitter and @theblackbearinn for the warm hospitality and love—you’re the best and I love the Furman family dearly.

Shoutout to @son_tao @troutstache and @browntown_trout_bum_ for tolerating my shenanigans and helping me when I got into mischief and hurt myself. Thank you to my husband @gcrack567 who always says yes to me going fishing and loving me no matter what.

On to the next episode…

I am getting busy once more preparing for our upcoming fly fishing workshops for kids in Patagonia! Busy trying to organize what would be the first group of female anglers to visit our area in Patagonia for the purpose of working with girls. It will be soo awesome to be able to get this idea off the ground! Soo pleased to have a good number of interested anglers…#womeninwaders #kidsflyfishing #girlsfishing #womensupportingwomen #fishingcommunity

One Fish…Two Fish…

One fish… two fish…
Big fish… true fish…
Silver backs or crimson stripes,
Battling hard with thrilling fights.

Red stripe… blue sky…
Clouds drift slowly rolling by.
Cold, clear water… steady flow…
Where mighty salmon love to go.

Three fish… four…
Each one better than before.
Smiles grow wider, laughter rings,
Nature shares her finest things.

Boots in water, hands held high,
Holding moments cash can’t buy.
Friends and family, side by side,
With river, current, and endless pride.

Cast a line… take your chance…
Watch the wild river dance.
Catch, admire, then let them roam—
For every river leads them home.

One fish… two fish…
Three fish… more…
The stories caught
Who’s keeping score.

Because in the end, it’s plain to see—
The greatest catch was family.
At ATA Lodge, year after year,
We reel in memories we all hold dear.
