🎵 In Motion 2027 applications are now open.

In Motion is for UK-based creators working in any genre or discipline who are ready to invest time, attention and energy in deepening, expanding or reimagining their practice over an 18-month period.

There is no single route through In Motion and no predetermined version of what success should look like. Instead, the programme is built around each artist’s ambitions, creating time and space to reflect, experiment, take creative risks and make meaningful changes in their work.

⏩ The application process is in two phases.

Phase 1️⃣
The first phase is a public open call to any creators interested in being considered for the programme.

In this first phase of application, you will be asked to:
• Submit your personal information, including your biography
• Respond to the application questions
• Share two links to examples of your work

Phase 2️⃣
If you are longlisted, we will invite you to submit answers to further questions. Applicants who are invited for interviews after the second phase will either be offered a place on In Motion or the Seed Award. We offer feedback to all applicants.

📅 Applications close Monday 2 November 2026.

Sound and Music is a @prsfoundation Talent Development Network Partner supported by @ppl_uk. In Motion 2027 is supported by @aceagrams, @prsfoundation and @creativescots.

Link in bio: The latest episode of FogCast on @resonancefm presents a series of highlights from the recent @aurisfestival Festival in Manchester, featuring four spatialised multichannel works. We begin with ‘T1/2 (Half Life)’ by Vicky Clarke (@sonamb__ ) and Kamila Narysheva (@milkteacentral) , a multichannel sound installation that explores the acoustic memory of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site in Kazakhstan through field recordings of soil, water, air and architectural remnants made in December 2024. We then continue with ‘Seven Sisters’, a participatory multichannel installation by fellow Co-Curator Wajid Yaseen (@wajidyaseen) , incorporating vintage test tone wide range oscillators to be adjusted and manipulated by the audience to create square and sine wave crossings. The installation is an act of listening effectively activated by the listener as they move around it and indeed you’ll hear participants engaging with the oscillators over the fifteen or so minutes of this field recording made live inside the installation. The second half of the programme is devoted to to the festival’s Spatial Audio listening room which was delivered on Bernard Steer’s Microcosm System, where we’ll hear @arconicsound’s ‘The Quiet Work Of Trees’ and round the hour off with ‘Lull’ by Mick Harris (mickharris1884) While a stereo broadcast could never fully capture the full impact of these multi-channel spatialised work, there is still much sonic richness on offer here, so as always, come drift into the night with us...

An amazing and powerful installation from Kamila Narysheva & Vicky Clarke in the bowels of the old UMIST Renold building in a room I never knew existed. Part of the excellent @aurisfestival .

Spending the morning listening to the radioactive remnants of the #Kazakh landscape thanks to Soviet nuclear weapons testing in the belly of the abandoned UMIST campus. The work of @milkteacentral @sonamb__ and @aurisfestival. T1/2 (Half-Life), is a sound installation that was borne out of our creative producer programme with @britisharts that introduced the artists who went on to explore the acoustic memory of the Semipalatinsk Test Site. Using field recordings and algorithmic sound processing, they uncover traces of trauma, resistance, and ecological self-repair in a space marked by nuclear history. It’s a vital, timely piece that reflects the last generation’s technology fetishisation run riot that seems pertinent to our ever accelerating abandonment of checks and balances as we meet the next technological revolution head on.

86 Princess Street began life at the start of the twentieth century as a shipping and packing warehouse for a number of merchants in Manchester’s textile industry.

Today, it's home to @seesawspace, a co-working space and arts and culture venue, supporting the people and practices that make up Manchester’s creative scene. Throughout the year it hosts a carefully curated programme of art exhibitions, workshops, artist events and participatory activity, creating space for both emerging and established artists to share work and connect with others.

This October, SEESAW becomes one of the homes of Auris Festival, bringing sound art inside its grad II listed walls, through a programme of 13 spatial audio listening sessions and Kamila Narysheva & Vicky Clarke's T1/2 (Half Life) installation.

Visit the link in bio to learn more about Auris and the performances, installations, spatial audio, talks, workshops and sound walks taking place across the weekend, October 9-11.

Post-nuclear sound, from atomic decay to rebirth.

T ½ (Half Life), is a sonic research project and sound installation exploring the acoustic memory of Semipalatinsk nuclear test site in Kazakhstan. Built from field recordings of the earth, sky, and architectural sites of the Polygon, the piece shows the environmental traces left behind after nuclear contamination.

Created by Kamila Narysheva and Vicky Clarke, T1/2 (Half Life) makes its UK premiere at Auris Festival as a newly realised quadraphonic installation. The work will be exhibited in the bunker space at the Renold Building at Sister. As part of their collaboration, the duo have been researching Manchester’s nuclear legacy, concentrating on a period of time in the 1980’s when Manchester declared itself a ‘Nuclear Free City’. There will be an artist talk and a film screening about this time from the Northwest Film Archive, and Archives +.

T1/2 (Half Life) is made possible through the ‘Connections Through Culture’ programme from the @britishcouncil.
