Less is usually more !!!

In this particular exercise, I’m working through the lower range of both a bridge and a “calf raise” to get more muscular challenge on my hamstrings, glutes, & plantarflexors (calves).

This is not medical advice.

instead of: compensating/not getting the full effectiveness of the muscle you’re actually trying to work or strengthen, or signaling to your nervous system something is up (think pain or discomfort). Modifications also help you to stay active and moving when you feel like you can’t (like when working through an injury)!

Modifications have gotten a bad rep - where we have been taught that if you can’t do it the way the instructor is that means you’re weak or whatever other negative thought that’s been put into your brain.

Trust me, I’ve been there too! But modifications are where the gold is💛

Learn so many amazing modifications for core & pressure management moves inside my self-paced, one time purchase, virtual program called The Midline Project by commenting MIDLINE✨

Your pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation so I wouldn’t train it like that either🤷🏽‍♀️

This is not medical advice.

Things like Diastasis Recti (DRA) and umbilical hernias are reasons why I made my online course called The Midline Project !!!!

I saw how many of my patients gained confidence and good tension/strength in their abdomen again from the education & data I shared but also from actually challenging exercises with some great tips/guidance that wasn’t generic.

Comment FREEBIE if you want to know how your pressure management is or if you’re wanting more info on this program comment MIDLINE✨

the most undervalued muscle when it comes to pelvic floor therapy !!!!

Hamstrings are QUEEN👑- they’re going to be the main driver to pull your pelvis underneath you and allow more opening of your hip & pelvic floor.

you can do all the breathwork in the world (which is important, don’t get me wrong), but without those hammers you’ll only get so far!

A month ago, one of my wildest dreams came true: I spoke on a panel at a conference about women’s health and wellbeing.

In the inaugural Amigas Cycles Conference, women from across the lifespan came together for a day of conversation and connection, education and empowerment.

In a room full of 120 women, we shared stories, resources, challenges and triumphs.

We put words to our universal experiences of womanhood in the healthcare system, broke generational silence and stigma, and brought to light the ways that capitalism and the patriarchy has separated us from our innate wisdom.

I have always held the belief and practiced from a deep understanding that the mind and body are not two separate entities. This perspective impacts the way I support myself, informs my yoga teaching, and is at the foundation of the work I do with my therapy clients.

In 2010, I graduated with both my Master of Social Work degree and completed my first 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training.

Mind + body.

For years after, I seriously contemplated going back to school to study acupuncture, functional medicine or naturopathy!

But instead, over the past decade, I have discovered a new way to blend mind + body.

In my own postpartum and perimenopausal journeys, I have been broken open in ways I could not imagine. And from these dark seasons came a new understanding that my hormonal health is a key component in the mind + body equation.

So when the opportunity to join @amigasmeansfriends & @sonder.pelvic at the Amigas Cycles Conference presented itself, the answer was a whole mind + body hell yes!

It’s been a month since the Conference, but I still find myself processing and integrating the experience.

The energy was electric. The community was inspiring.

When women come together, something powerful happens.

I am beyond grateful to have been a part of the magic.

And the conversation is not over.

Join @camillalunayoga and me for our half-day women’s yoga retreat - The Divine Feminine: Hormones Across the Lifespan.

We will move, breathe, connect, and discover. Link in bio.

Sharing the biggest things I keep implementing and coming back to in my business and figured that after doing this for 2 years, with one of those being completely solo, I’d share some tidbits. Hope this helps someone else in this journey (or thinking about starting 👀)🤎

What would you add to this list of things you’ve learned in biz ownership???
