Bread Type: Bellata Sourdough
Place: Sonoma Bakery, Alexandria
Cost: $12
Appearance: Artisanal
Aroma: Mild tang
Crust: Crispy
Crumb: Open not wild
Flavour: Bitter (in a good way)

I had to Google the origin of “Bellata” where I learnt that Sonoma’s roots trace back to a tiny bakery in Bellata - a remote wheat town in Regional NSW.

This sourdough, exclusive to the Alexandria store, is everything you want in a loaf. It was so incredibly fresh. Crunchy outside, soft and airy inside, with just the right hint of tang ✨ Beautiful work @sonomabakery

Breaking-the-fast 🥞🥣🥚💕 Some ideas for you i’ve been eating this last month…

1. Confit salmon bowl with gf focaccia, broccolini, avocado and a little salad of shaved radish, pomegranate and radicchio.

2. Creamy oats cooked in soy milk with flax meal, hemp seeds, half a banana and cinnamon > whisked through egg whites at the end for extra protein and deliciousness. Topped with pomegranate, wild frozen blueberries and ABC butter.

3. Jammy eggs, crispy oyster mushrooms with rosemary, smoked trout, barrel aged feta, avocado, sauerkraut, sourdough and a little side salad.

4. @sonomabakery not cross bun with salted butter

5. Homemade gf / df banana bread, pan toasted and topped with ricotta, toasted coconut, raw honey, cinnamon and sea salt.

Decided to try this green shakshuka from @nytimescooking before playing tennis today with some @sonomabakery miche It’s a lazy Monday public holiday which means we slept in. So a little more time to make breakfast. Finished the rest after playing tennis with my partner. I used cream cheese with a little water and had some leftover Napa cabbage which I added to the mix!
