@subduedstringbandjamboree 2026…my 5th year experiencing this fever dream of beauty and chaos. it felt like crossing through a gate…a right of passage.

i’ll share more eventually, but for now i’ll offer a little collection of things:
a poem, my first-ever tintype with @ava_llew_music, taken by the wonderful @badtintypes, laid on a 100+ year old banjo that @devin_champlin_ graciously lent me for Serenade Tent decor, and the Sons of Rainier song that stopped me in my tracks and first made me fall for this place back in 2021.

jamboree feels like entering into another world. alongside all the joy, this year held some of the hardest moments i have ever experienced. but it was still three days of some of my favorite music, community, love, creativity, and being surrounded by people who feel like home.

it’s messy and beautiful and overwhelming and magical and heartbreaking, and somehow all of those things can exist at once.

learning, reflecting, and stepping away with a new perspective.

Wow! What a wild ride of a festival. With a huge lift from our amazing friends including the unstoppable and unsleepable chef Amy Gibson, we were able to put out a crazy amount of food and drinks that we were truly proud to serve. And, as promised in our employee handbook, we were able to finish in time catch a perfect Sons of Rainier set Saturday night. We’re all feeling incredibly grateful to share experiences like these with such wonderful people. Thank you for all your support. See you next year @subduedstringbandjamboree
