The artwork of @sophjcksn. Sophie Jackson is a Gen Z, multidisciplinary artist who brilliantly captures the frenetic nature of the Internet coupled with the apathetic attitudes of its young users. She regularly samples recognizable imagery from the digital age like the Windows XP default wallpaper, microtrends, and stills from the popular computer game The Sims. Sophie has also experimented with video animation, like the clip from Slide 2 from her short film “Influenced” (2025), which can be viewed on her YouTube channel. Btw, hi. We’re Good Different.

Sophie Jackson and Claire Jorgensen's work explores our increasingly digital culture through the analog methodology of painting.  “This Is Not Real” examines the digital world as a place of fractured connections, where the line between reality and the screen is blurred. Through Jackson’s employment of narrative layering and collage and Jorgensen’s combination of digital manipulation alongside generative images, both artists’ work tackle themes of contemporary angst, simulation, and the disarming hyperreality of our modern technological age. “This Is Not Real” runs from February 2nd - 7th in the Audain Gallery, Visual Arts Building, 3800 Ring Rd. Join us for a reception with the artists on February 5th from 6 - 8pm.
