Meet our #LeadingMinds youth leader Victor Ugo, founder of Mentally Aware Nigeria @mentallyawareng @onvicug 🧠🗣 ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Globally we need to start thinking of #mentalhealth beyond the stigma conversations, & start to talk more about policy actions and plans with mapped out financial frameworks. Just like for HIV, TB & Malaria we need to have a similar commitment from top funders, bilateral organisations & governments, that everyone, young people especially will have the support they need to realise their full potential.
I'm so honored to be attending the #leadingminds conference and along with other young persons, demanding this commitment.” ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Meet #LeadingMinds youth leader Josiah Tualamali’i! ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Our charity the Pacific Youth Leadership And Transformation Trust started off as something to grow Pacific youth leadership. Overtime it unintentionally became a way we supported each others wellbeing and to share our voices after the Christchurch Earthquakes. 🌸❤️
One of the best examples of support in NZ is the 24-7 youth workers in 71 high schools. These young people help students bond and build belongingness”🙌

Meet Fatou Dièye Fall @blue_fatou #Senegal, Founder of Safe Open Space @sosprojectsn
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“My name is Fatou Dièye Fall, I created Safe Open Space Senegal, the first Senegalese active listening platform about mental health to invite my community to more tenderness, more compassion, more love and understanding towards mental health topics.
My own experience inspired me to create rooms for everyone who want their feelings to be validated. Rooms where fear, pain and shame can be freely expressed. 🗣🙌🧠 If governments knew how crucial and empowering youth mental health can be to a developing country, they would consider policies more seriously.
But as young leaders, I believe that the battle should start from us.
I'm so happy and humbled to be attending the UNICEF #LeadingMinds Conference along with other youth participants from all around the world!” ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
