Sometimes the way through is in the simplest things.

A breath.
A field of flowers.
A moment of stillness.

Knowing the hard days will pass, and choosing to keep noticing the beauty along the way. 🍃

These beautiful flowers from my daughter and her boyfriend have been such a sweet reminder of how loved I am. 💐

The past couple of weeks have been challenging health wise & I’ve had to step back from work, postpone some beautiful client sessions & rest. This is actually a really tough post for me to share.

I don’t always find it easy to open up when I’m struggling. I think sometimes those of us who spend so much of our time supporting others can find it surprisingly difficult to receive that same support ourselves.

So I want to say thank you.

To everyone who has checked in, sent love, beautiful messages & offered support & especially to the gorgeous friends who have sent me distance Reiki. I have felt every bit of it & I’m incredibly grateful.

This experience has also been teaching me something.

I’m actually very good at caring for my wellbeing. I meditate, practise mindfulness, stretch, hydrate, rest when I can & do many of the things I encourage others to do.

But I’ve realised I’m not always very good at listening to my pain!

I’ve dismissed it, pushed through it, told myself it was something I should just live with. Like so many women, I’ve sometimes normalised pain instead of really listening to what my body was trying to tell me.

Eventually, the message became impossible to ignore.

Ending up in the emergency room was a pretty clear sign that I had taken ignoring my own pain way too far.

So right now, I’m listening.

I’m receiving excellent medical care, I’m ok recovering at home. I miss my work because it genuinely is my passion, but I also know there is something to be learned in this season!

That’s how life works sometimes, lessons keep getting louder when we don’t listen the first time.

Universe, I’m listening.

I don’t want anyone else to wait until they’re in a hospital before they listen to themselves. Whether it’s physical, emotional or mental pain, perhaps this is your little reminder to pause & tend to yourself.

It’s a lesson I’m learning too.

I’m sure there is more this season has to teach me, but for now, I’m resting, receiving & listening.

Thank you for all your support.

Sometimes it’s not the big things that matter most.

Sometimes it’s sitting across from a friend, trying something new, laughing about how pretty your latte is and then somehow finding yourselves having one of those honest conversations that you really needed to have.

As R U OK?Day approaches, it’s a beautiful reminder that connection matters.

Having someone you can talk to honestly. Someone who listens without judgement. Someone who can sit with you in the messy bits, celebrate the good bits and remind you that you don’t have to navigate everything on your own.

Friendship can be medicine in the simplest of ways.

So keep making time for the people you love. Try the new thing. Go for the coffee. Have the conversation. Ask the question.

Sometimes, just sit together and see where the conversation takes you. 💗

Today, ours happened over my very first beetroot latte, thanks to my friend’s recommendation. I appreciate you listening today my friend xx

Also, everything really is prettier in pink.

What if we stopped rushing through the moments we actually came here to experience?

Sometimes creating space for yourself doesn’t mean adding another ritual to your day.

Sometimes it means making the ordinary feel a little more intentional.

A coffee in the sunshine.

A beautiful pastry shared with someone you love.

Warmth of the afternoon air.

The texture beneath you & sound of the world around you.

Nowhere else you need to be!

This is one of the things I’ve come to love about my Earth Mat.

Yes, I use it for yoga.

But I’ve realised it’s become so much more than that.

It’s become a place to land.

A place to stretch out, breathe, read, meditate, rest or simply sit and enjoy the moment I’m actually in.

There’s something about the softness and warmth of the natural Merino beneath you, the feeling of creating a space rather than simply occupying one, it changes the experience.

It turns sitting outside with a coffee into something more deliberate.

Not because the coffee needs to become a ritual. But I want to be present enough to actually experience it.

To savour the coffee.

To savour the pastry.

To savour the weather.

To savour the company.

To notice the little things that are so easy to move past when we’re rushing from one thing to the next.

I think we often imagine grounding has to be something complicated.

But perhaps sometimes grounding is simply this.

Creating somewhere beautiful to land.

Feeling the earth beneath you, being completely, wonderfully here.

This is also why I 🤍 supporting small Aus biz that create with intention. @earthmat.au is a Vic biz whose philosophy of thoughtful design, natural materials, slower moments feels very aligned with the way I want to live.

I also have one of these beautiful mats within my @soulandmoonlight practice, where it becomes part of the space for Reiki, guided meditation, channelling & allowing yourself to deeply relax. If you’d like to experience that for yourself, you can book through the Book Now button there.

Simplicity.

Home.
My cat curled up nearby.
The quiet hum of an ordinary day.

She moves through life without worrying about what anyone thinks,
without trying to change what she cannot,
without needing to be anywhere but here.

She reminds me to slow down.

To notice.
To breathe.
To simply be.

There is so much beauty
in an uncomplicated life.

Happy 40th birthday, Laura ✨🪷🌷🪻🌹💐🌼

There’s something a little magical about celebrating 40 in a flower crown, surrounded by wild beauty, laughter and women who remind you who you are.

Amongst the flowers of the Geelong Botanic Gardens, we celebrated more than a birthday. We celebrated friendship, sisterhood, becoming, and all the beautiful strength it takes to know your worth, honour your boundaries and choose a life that feels true to you.

Laura, I am so incredibly proud of the woman you have become and of how far you’ve come. Of everything you’ve faced, everything you’ve created and everything you continue to step into.

And I’m so grateful for a friendship where we can be completely ourselves. Where we can be ridiculous and silly, laugh until our faces hurt, have the deepest conversations and still hold space for each other through all of it.

Here’s to 40 years of you, and to everything still waiting to unfold.

More laughter. More magic. More flowers in our hair. More choosing ourselves. More becoming.

Happy 40th, beautiful Laura.
I love you dearly. 🧚🏽🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️🧚🏽🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️🧚🏽🧚‍♀️

There is something about a pink sky
that makes the whole world feel softer.

The blossom trees outside my home,
petals dancing gently in the evening light,
reminding me that beauty doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes healing looks like this.

Coming home.
Taking a breath.
Feeling your feet on the earth.
Letting the day gently fall away.

The quiet energy of Reiki has taught me to notice these moments more deeply.
To pause.
To soften.
To allow instead of always doing.

And perhaps that is the magic of simplicity.

A pink sky.
Blossom in the breeze.
A quiet home.
A moment to breathe.

Nothing to fix.
Nothing to chase.

Just energy flowing,
and the gentle reminder
that sometimes coming back to yourself
can be as simple as being still enough to notice
how beautiful life already is.

Chase the sunrises.
Follow the dreams.
Say yes to the adventure.

Let yourself become.

There is so much life waiting for you beyond the edges of what you already know. New places, new experiences, unexpected moments and dreams you haven’t even dared to dream yet.

You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going.

Sometimes you just have to follow the light and trust that the path will reveal itself along the way. 🌅✨

And if you’re feeling called to have a little support as you navigate your own becoming, we’re here.

Reach out to us at Geelong Wellness Collective, or send me at Soul and Moonlight to explore the different ways we can support you on your journey.

Self care moments can be anything that fill your cup, help you feel refreshed or simply give you a little time to yourself.

Today mine looked like a fresh cut and colour at Berdi ✂️✨

And that head massage while your hair is being washed… absolute heaven. 😌

Sometimes self care is as simple as letting someone else look after you for a little while.

When a store holds a little magic…

A place where the moment you step inside, you feel as though you’ve wandered into a storybook.

Where treasures you once only dreamed of discovering in your imagination are waiting to be found.

Where a beautiful dress can inspire you to slow down, sip tea in the garden, pick flowers, and create a picnic beneath the afternoon sun.

A place where imagination, slow fashion and mindful living come together…

A gentle reminder that life is made more beautiful when we leave a little room for wonder.
