Headed to Fort Wayne for the @sweetwatersound Retreat: The Future of Hip-Hop Music Production & Sound Design. Shout out to @hiphopeducationcenter for making it happen.

I’m representing @soulsciencelab and @buildingbeats. I’m bringing my perspective as an artist, educator, and creative technologist. I look forward to building with a community that is shaping what’s next.

The future of Hip-Hop music education is ours to imagine, shape, and build together.

It’s been a long time coming! I’m honored to join The Recording Academy’s New Member Class of 2026. Special thanks to @kerstenstevens and @thisisshrines for the recommendations.

Music has opened doors for me as an artist, educator, and entrepreneur. I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring all of those perspectives into a community committed to supporting the people who create, perform, and shape music.

I’m looking forward to contributing my voice, learning from others, and helping move our industry toward a more creative, equitable, and sustainable future.

Here’s to the work ahead. Let’s keep elevating and inspiring each other. Oh…and NEW MUSIC IS ON THE WAY!!!!

Soul Science Lab has spent years exploring the intersection of music, storytelling, education and culture, creating work that invites people not just to listen, but to participate. From collaborations with some of music’s most influential voices to commissions from Carnegie Hall and the Apollo Theater, Chen Lo and Asante Amin have built a practice that proves art can preserve memory, spark dialogue and strengthen community.

This July at Summit Family Campout, they’ll bring that same energy to the forest, where music becomes a shared experience across generations.

Bring your kids. Bring your parents. Bring your curiosity.

Join us at Campout and experience Soul Science Lab together.

Soul Science Lab (Chen Lo & Asante Amin) is a Brooklyn-based music and multimedia duo creating work at the intersection of sound, story, and community.

Through live performance, education, and immersive projects like The Renaissance Mixtape (commissioned by the Apollo Theater), their work explores where Black music, culture, and imagination are headed.

Through sound and story, they describe themselves as Afrofuturistic griots, carrying memory while shaping what comes next.

Join us April 23 for a conversation with Soul Science Lab and March On! Artistic Director Isisara Bey.

Serving the @hiphopeducationcenter through teaching and learning this season has been nothing short of transformative.

I had the honor of co-teaching alongside my dear sister @iammarthadiaz in the first of its kind BA in Hip-Hop Organization, Leadership and Change at @collegeunbound . A program that is remixing college access for hip-hop pioneers like:

• Grand Mixer DXT: @grandmixerdxt
• Verseti: @djverseti
• Asante: @soulsciencelab
• Jasmine Coan: @djbellaj
• Marlon Richardson: @unlearntheworld
• Whitney Taber: @ms_taber
• Sebastien Elkouby: @sebishiphop
• O Sharp: @djosharp
• PRiZM Roman: @pr_izm
• Easy A.D: Of the legendary @coldcrushbros

And more.

Grateful to serve as Principal Investigator for this groundbreaking effort rooted in emancipatory inquiry. This is more than a degree. It’s a return to possibility. Deep gratitude to @husslington & @asbush for supporting the vision for this to take shape! Peace!
