From Scratch: Traditional Hip Hop is available now at Splice! One of the most synonymous sounds with original Hip Hop is the “scratching” that a DJ would do with a record player creating an instrument in itself that is everything from rhythmic to accenting. It is these pioneering actions of many early “Disc Jockeys” that inspires “From Scratch,” the latest sample pack release from Soul Surplus, curated and created by “Mr Len,” original member and DJ of legendary Hip-Hop group “Company Flow.” This pack contains over 150 loops and one-shots of everything from resampled drum and percussion loops, to sound effects and scratches. We’re sure that you’ll be able to give your tracks a touch of timeless hip hop with these diverse samples and loops straight from a master DJ.

High Definition - Chipmunk Soul is available now at Splice!! - ‘Chipmunk Soul’ is a term coined by the popular Hip Hop trend of the 2000’s that would have producers like Kanye West pitch soul and R&B vocalists in high registers emulating the squeaky voice of a chipmunk. “High Definition,” is a sample pack inspired by this trend with loads of loops that are perfect for building any track. From pitched up vocals and samples to lush instrumentation, full of keyboards, synth textures and leading melodies, this release is sure to be useful for any project!

The making of REPENTANCE. All praises to the Most High for the talent of the musicians @soulsurplus . As a sample based producer royalty free samples that have soul are essential! All my beats are made using my iPad and beatmaker3 these days. Such a useful tool!

Thoughts on a pool break...a lot of life is being lived lately, which usually equates to a lot of good music being made...a relatively high price to pay at times, but a truth that is consistent.
