A routine school commute. A snapped cable.

Eight passengers — six of them schoolboys — left dangling 900 feet above a ravine in the Himalayan foothills, with hours before the last wire gives way. HANGING BY A WIRE is the true story of the rescue that unfolded live on national television, built from footage the families and rescuers filmed themselves.

“That high-altitude action sequence in Where Eagles Dare has sudden new competition for the most knuckle-whitening cable-car moment in cinema.” — Time Out

“A documentary with all the urgency of a Hollywood disaster movie.” — Screen Daily

“A gripping story of survival and remarkable heroism.” — RogerEbert.com

Opens in select theaters beginning August 28. Swipe to find a screening near you.

A film directed by Mohammed Ali Naqvi and produced by Mo Naqvi & Bilal Sami
Official Selection: Sundance · Tribeca · Seattle · Sydney

I’ve been keeping a secret for some time - I’m excited to share that I will be speaking at @cannes_lions 2026 this week!

Every year I set three goals for myself: one personal, one professional, and one "stretch" goal that sometimes feels impossible. This year, that stretch goal was to speak at Cannes Lions and its happening! 🧿 Manifestation is real. 😉

Swipe through for Cannes with me over the years. Journey started in 2013 as being nominated as a Young Lions creator, to attending, to now becoming a speaker!

On June 24, I'll be sharing my POV on the trends shaping the next 18 months. The heart of it: AI has the power, but you have the judgement.

* Future Gazers · The Forum, Rotonde · June 24, 1:15 PM *

Can't make it to Cannes? Catch it on the livestream: canneslions.com

See you in the South of France!!! 🙌☀️

South Asians at Cannes >>> ✨🎬

Just a reel full of talented filmmakers, creators, chaos, events, parties, meetings, red carpets, and conversations that somehow turn into future projects.

Seeing so many South Asian voices take up authentic space at Cannes this year felt really special. And yes, we’ve been kind of busy🤎✨

Came to Cannes to watch stories unfold on screen.

But the most meaningful stories happened off screen.

New friendships.
New collaborations.
New perspectives.
New possibilities.

A beautiful reminder that behind every film is a community of dreamers, creators, and believers.

Grateful for the memories and the people who made my first Cannes unforgettable.

Until next time. 🎬✨
