🦈Goblin Deep Dark Float🍒
And last but not least is our float based off of the Goblin Shark! A creation made by me and my brother, this sticker was so adorable to make. I loved the contrast of the shark against the dark Dr. Pepper color behind it. The black cherry ice cream fit perfectly as the color of the shark hidden in the dark waters below.

The Goblin shark is definitely on the list of Strange looking sharks. It has appeared on many shark week shows under the alien shark category. But really, they are just Deep Sea creatures that have to adapt in order to survive. Their anatomy is incredible and really showcases how they adapted to living in the dark. For the first part, they are pink! Instead of the normal blue, grey, or brown of most shark species. This comes from their skin being so thin that you are able to see the blood through it. Their snouts and jaws are the next major thing you would notice. The strange way their nose is gives them the inspiration for their name, but also helps them hunt better. Very similar to a Hammerhead, the more surface area, the more ampullae of Lorenzini are present! This helps the sharks track their prey that could be hiding in the sand or in the dark that they can’t see. Goblin sharks can also detach their jaws to reach out and grab their food! A truly interesting species indeed.

Although they are not common and little is known about them, the IUCN has them listed as Least Concern due to the fact that they are not caught or found often.

🦈Thresher Shark Skittle Sundae🐟
Time for Mary’s favorite and own creation - The Thresher Shark Skittle Sundae! This sundae is a bit different from our normal ones. It uses vanilla ice cream and also lemon lime italian ice! And in between all of that are freeze dried skittles that our friends over at @artistic_memorable_designs made! Mary says that when she was younger and lived on the water, seeing them in the open ocean in the Gulf Stream was her favorite. It was truly memorable and seeing them jump out of the water used to be amazing to her!

The art for this sundae was inspired by that. The little fish that the Thresher eats are the same colors as the skittles in the sundae!

Thresher sharks are pelagic and migratory fish that can be found in most ocean waters except those in the arctic or antarctic areas. Their tails are the main showstopper for being so different. Most shark tails can give you a lot of information about the shark such as where they live or how they swim. But the Thresher’s is built for speed and eating. They use their long tails to snap at and stun fish for them to then eat. Their incredibly long tail is also used to help them get bursts of speed as this species is one of the few that is known to breach out of the water.

Threshers are basically harmless to humans since they prefer the open ocean, but that doesn’t stop them from being in danger. Because of their incredibly large and beautiful tails, they are a target species that are hunted for their fins. They also are hunted for sport and their meat and liver oils as well. The IUCN has them listed as Vulnerable due to this.

🦈Great White Chocolate Coffee☕
I guess I popped off a little too hard because I didn't realize my original post was too long for Instagrams post format 😅 so the rest is included as pictures instead of the caption for the post
Our Great white chocolate coffee is so delicious! You can’t go wrong with iced coffee and white chocolate? Even better! Our secret is to also ask to get marshmallow with it. 🤫
White sharks are one of the most misunderstood and suffer the most from a bad reputation. If there is one thing that I have noticed and learned that the movie Jaws is either loved by shark lovers or its not. It had such a huge impact on so many aspects of life! It was the movie that saved the film industry! It has become so popular in media and entertainment. But it also had a lasting effect on the shark populations. (Continued in pictures)

🦈Whale Shark Birthday Sundae🎂
Next is our Whale Shark dessert! Pink frosting, birthday cake ice cream, and actual cake?! I am so thankful for the love that has been given to this treat in particular! Whale sharks are one of my favorite Sharks. It is the biggest Shark (and therefore fish) in the world! Even though they are huge, they actually feed on Plankton! Each Whale Shark has a unique spotted pattern that is like their own fingerprint. They are slow swimmers and can be found in warm, tropical waters.

Like many sharks, they are in danger. The Whale shark is listed by the IUCN as Endangered. They are at risk due to being killed for their meat and oil, and also they are often killed as bycatch by unregulated fisheries. Although whale sharks are protected in most places that use them for ecotourism, that doesn’t mean that it can’t disrupt their feeding or even stop them from being messed with by humans or hurt by boats. The fact that we know so little about their breeding and pupping doesn’t help with knowing how to protect or help keep them safe.

The look and feel for the art on this sticker goes back to my birthday. I wanted to find a way to incorporate the birthday cake and what better way than frosting and sprinkles? This is the epitome of what I wanted to do; keep it cute but also with enough detail that you can tell what kind of shark it is.

🦈 Caribbean Reef Punch🥥
Starting with our most popular item off of our Jawesome Treats menu is the Caribbean Reef Punch! This is a delicious and refreshing drink with Sprite, Pineapple, Coconut, and Blue curacao! It brings you to the tropical waters where these sharks live. Caribbean Reef Sharks reside in the Caribbean islands and also the eastern coast of South America. They are one of the few sharks who have been seen to sleep in groups together in caves or on the ocean floor. They are considered one of the apex predators in the ecosystems they live in.
Unfortunately these sharks are listed by the IUCN as Endangered and are the victims of being fished for their fins and meat, and also lowered numbers due to habitat loss.
For the art, I wanted to include something cute and simple! Caribbean Reef sharks are very "shark shaped" to say the least. And they usually stick together so I wanted to include 2 of them in the beautiful blue water they take refuge in.

It's the best time of the year!! Shark Week! 🦈💙 Although for me, #SharkWeek is a year round thing. For anyone who knows me or doesn't, Sharks are very special to me. I love them very dearly and love learning about them. Everyone knows that Sharks are viewed in a negative light most of the time in media and entertainment. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers did you know that more than half of the titles of shows for this year's line up include words and phrases that paint sharks in a certain perspective? Well it bothers me and I wanted to do something about it.
So for this year I wanted to step up and maybe help shine the light at a different angle. For our special menu this month we did something special for Sharks. I wanted to use my love and passion for them to showcase them in a brighter light. This doesn't take away from the fact that many shark species are apex predators in their own ecosystems. They have a duty in their chain and ecosystem and they fulfill that role. But that doesn't mean they have to be put into a certain box. So many sharks face threats from humans mostly due to hunting, overfishing, and destruction of their habitats.
So now will all that said, throughout the week I will be showcasing one of our menu items and the art that I made to go with it. Hope you stick around and maybe learn something new or to have a new appreciation for Sharks 💙

Niall had us laughing, crying, and dancing. He said, "take a breath, forget everything outside of this amphitheater, and just be in the moment and have fun". That's what I love most about concerts... While your there, nothing else matters. It's just you and the music. You experience an emotional purge, where you just pour everything out into screaming along to your favorite songs and you leave feeling like you've hit a reset button. 💖
