Guess what! 🎬✨!!!
Four months ago, I posted that I started my screen debut in the short film Souvenir and I wanted to share this great news... I’ve just found out that 30 Australian short films have been selected for the next stage of consideration for the 2027 AACTA Awards, and the film @souvenir.shortfilm , directed by Renée Marie Petropoulos @renee_marie_petropoulos is one of them!

For those who may not be familiar with the AACTA Awards, they are Australia’s leading screen awards, comparable to the Oscars in USA, the César Awards in France, the Prix Gémeaux and Prix Iris in Québec, and the Canadian Screen Awards (CSAs) in Canada.

Such a wonderful journey this film is having, from winning the Grand Jury Prize at SXSW in Austin and now making it to the top 30 for the 2027 AACTA Awards!!! Oh la la! That is Absolutely Fabulous!

If you are an @aacta member, the voting is now open! This is your opportunity to discover and enjoy the work of 30 talented Australian filmmakers and have your say on which six films you believe should progress towards the 2027 AACTA Award nomination!

Voting closes on Friday 16 October 2026 at 5:00pm AEDT
