Damn, is it already next week? Wake up, boy!

Last week's Happy Insta Album Cover Challenge #66 was all about the bling, with album covers featuring jewelry. Hosted by @cdneverendingstory

This is another blind buy album for me. I'd never heard of the band before, but the cover was just too cool for me to pass up. Seriously, look at that lady! She looks like she's having a great time; like she's already jacked up on her own potent potables. I want to party with her. I bet she drinks tequila and rolls her own

I had no idea who Sparkle Division was before this. My first guess was this album, based on the artwork and title, was going to be filled with some sort of 80s techno dance music

Anyway, Wiki tells me that, "Sparkle Division is an American electronic music group composed of composers William Basinski, Preston Wendel, and Gary Thomas Wright"

'To Feel Embraced' is their debut studio album, recorded mostly in 2016, but not released until 2020

Sparkle Division's Bandcamp Says of this album: "A vibrant electronic fusion of #lounge, #jazz, and #disco is maybe not the first (or fifth) thing you would expect to hear from one of the world’s most renowned modern composers and ambient tape loop pioneers..."

For me, overall, this is a very enjoyable record. I heard the lounge, but not the disco. Most of it was jazz to my ears, with a couple of tracks that were very reminiscent of 80s era music for meditation and relaxation

The album came with a download code, too, which is always a bitchin' bonus

Behold! The final All Things Vibrations playlist of 2024, which includes a song from each album that we released this year, along with the news single from the upcoming new Mogwai album 💥

Additionally, each member of the TRL staff picked 5 of their favorite songs released this year, which we have arranged in respective blocks at the bottom of the playlist. Think of them as playlists within the playlist. We hope you enjoy the holidays and get some much needed relaxation during what will surely be a too-brief break and too-rude awakening when the clock strikes 2025. We’ll see you then 🫵🏽

Thank you sincerely for your attention and support, we certainly do not take it for granted.

This year was like none other for many of us. Filled with tragic losses, financial ruin, and seemingly everything now requiring a subscription, we just wanted to send everyone a sincere and massive thanks for experiencing and enduring 2024 with us 🙏🏽 And though 2024 brought many terrible changes, we are defiantly proud to continue our annual tradition of the Temporary Residence Ltd. 🆓 sampler compilation! It includes one track from every new release we pushed out into the world in 2024, and it’s free. It doesn’t cost you anything but your time, and hopefully it ends up being worth at least that.

Speaking of enduring annual traditions, the holidays are upon us, which means it’s time to bring back the ❓TRL Vinyl Mystery Box❓! The mystery box contains a mixed, unique assortment of FIVE 5️⃣ vinyl records released by Temporary Residence Ltd. These may include everlasting classics, rare colored vinyl editions, obscure warehouse finds, and/or albums that we just really love and want everyone to hear. Every package will include at least one new 2024 vinyl release! The bundles are available for a very limited time, and they usually sell out very fast, so now’s the time to stop reading and start clicking ↖️

Happy Holidays,
Team TRL

New mix is up! Link in bio, swipe for tracks and artist tags…. Description 👇

No. 64 is wrapped in a warm velvety fuzz, and is by no means rushed, but wastes no time getting in… It’s ripe with wah wah, waka waka, and gooey dulce dub. Along the way you will also find springy forest floor funk, steamy stormy midnight soul, dreamy digital drift, smokey back room bloom bap, and disrobed spacey strut. All tied together with some hypnotic loops’n’beats, and loose breaks’n’grooves… I’m happy with it, hope you enjoy!

If you hear something you like, please seek out and support those artists / labels ✌️❤️👂

(In a related note, I’ve enabled “tipping” on Mixcloud. If you enjoy the mixes and wanted to throw some change in the digital “bucket”, that’s always appreciated)

Surprise! Today is the release of a fabulous new 3-song EP from SPARKLE DIVISION – the collaborative trio of William Basinski, Preston Wendel, and Gary Thomas Wright! Last year they unleashed FOXY, this century’s finest album inspired by late-60s Hollywood hedonism and LSD-drenched debauchery. Now they are back with a spicy chaser in the form of Jupiter Lounge! Soaked in electronic jazz-funk and warped disco, Jupiter Lounge is the perfect next piece in the eclectic evolution of SPARKLE DIVISION. Sashay to the link in bio and grab this soundtrack to whatever hot mess you’re fixin’ to find yourself in this weekend! 🥂
