CHART opens to the public today. We spent yesterday at the preview, seeing some great art and catching up with artists, gallerists and friends from across the Nordic art scene.

Here are a few things, and people, that caught our attention along the way.

CHART ART FAIR = masser af gedigen kunst i den helt høje ende af skalaen i form af nordiske gallerier præsenteret i @kunsthalcharlottenborg. @chart_artfair med direktør @juliesilbermann i spidsen har skabt et omfattende program med nye tiltag side om side med kendte ting som Chart i @tivolicph og en række talks, performances og film.
Jeg nød at gå rundt på den flot kuraterede messe og suge til mig af indtryk og nærstudere nogle af værkerne.
Men altså: Hvor er det dog irriterende at så mange gallerier sætter en ære i ikke at oplyse kunstnernavn og galleri ved hvert værk 😡
Vi professionelle, som gerne vil nævne kunstnerens navn korrekt og også galleriet der repræsenterer vedkommende skal ofte virkelig gøre os umage (ekstra tid og energi) på at affotografere bøger, lister eller rode rundt i QR koder efter en lang dag.
Øv! Sæt nu et lille skilt så jeg efter et værkfoto nemt kan affotografere navn på kunstner og galleri. Og endnu bedre: Skriv også kunstnerens Instagram eller lign.
Alle ville få mere omtale hvis ikke der var denne snob-tendens “oppe i højderne” - jo finere galleriet er, jo mindre publikumsvenligt er det.
Så hvis jeg på mine fotos ikke tagger korrekt er det fordi jeg ikke orker lede mere efter oplysningerne.
Og det synes jeg egentlig er ærgerligt for kunstnerne…
Når dette er sagt så anbefaler jeg virkelig @chart_artfair i år. Der er så meget godt at se og opleve! 👀

It’s been hard to find much lightness in the sadness of losing my father a few weeks ago. The loss, and the empty space he has left behind, feels huge and gaping.
But opening the kiln to pieces I started making before it all happened has given me unexpected moments of respite. The pieces I’ve been working on this year, including those for Peroral, my upcoming exhibition at Galleri Specta in Denmark, were always intended to bring a little lightness and a wry smile to what can feel like very dark and challenging times.
I wonder if I should count myself lucky that, without knowing what lay ahead, I had already given myself these small moments of lightness to hold onto during this difficult time for my family.
I hope the next few pieces I share will bring a little of that lightness — and perhaps a smile — to you too. #ceramics #contemporaryart #sculpture

#MeetTheGallery — We’re delighted to welcome @spectagallery back to Charlottenborg for #CHART2026, where the gallery returns to the Main Section.

For CHART 2026 SPECTA brings together works by three artists exploring original approaches to a variety of materials. Combining crafts with distinct materials more often found in other fields of work and various industries, the presentation includes works which are both stringent and organic.

The presentation presents work by Signe Jais (@signe_jais), Isabel Berglund (@isabel_berglund), and Frances Goodman (@fjgoodman), foregrounding material-based practices, where craftsmanship, technique, and process are not only tools but forms of knowledge in themselves and where crafting is understood as a mode of thinking and of experience. In a time marked by acceleration and digital abstraction, the works insist on tactility and on the patience of a time consuming process.

We warmly welcome you to the opening of the group exhibition Fundarstaður / Meeting Point, this Saturday, July 11th between 17-19.

Meeting Point brings together seven contemporary artists from Iceland, Denmark, Greenland and Canada, whose practices span painting, sculpture, and textile. Rooted in distinct cultural contexts yet connected through the shared landscape of the North Atlantic, the exhibition offers a meeting place for diverse artistic voices.

Working with different materials and approaches, the artists explore themes of memory, identity, nature, and transformation. Each practice is shaped by individual experience, while together the works reveal unexpected resonances across disciplines, geographies, and traditions. Rather than presenting a single narrative, Meeting Point invites dialogue between materials, cultures and the artworks themselves.

The title Meeting Point refers not only to the gathering of artists from diverse geographical and cultural contexts, but also to the gallery itself: a place where ideas, perspectives, and people converge. It is an invitation to slow down, to notice relationships between works that may not be immediately apparent, and to discover unexpected affinities across different media and ways of making.
