✨ Introducing Mazu ✨

Originally envisioned as a scarf for Expression Fiber Arts, Mazu carries a story within its design. The vertical panel showcases a Celtic knot motif, an ode to interwoven ropes symbolizing harmony, friendship, and affection, values cherished by those who brave the open sea.

To complement this, I added a touch of brioche crochet in the horizontal panels, inspired by the beauty and resilience of seagrass meadows. Just as these meadows protect coastlines and nurture the planet, the design brings depth, texture, and elegance to the piece.

Crafted with intricate overlay work and the graceful brioche crochet style, Mazu is available both as a scarf and a shawl.

🧶 Yarn used:
Scarf version: Expression Fiber Arts CashSilk Sock
Shawl version: Expression Fiber Arts North Fingering

This design would not have been possible without my incredible testing team. I’m so grateful for their support, sharing some photos of the scarf version created by these talented makers (accounts tagged in the images).

The pattern is now live on @expressionfiberarts

I've been in a slump in the recent months. Family stuff, and in general life, has been tough. I've been trying to show up for work, but been failing miserably, and that in turn became a viscous cycle instead.
.
And then my dearest besties do this: a handmade blanket to remind me they are there for me. A big warm hug and a reminder that I'm not alone. I'm crying ugly tears as i write this, but i really love u girls @needlethreadnfabric @on_hooks @spellboundstitcher .

As the year draws to a close, I would like to thank Mother Nature for providing me an opportunity to capture some beautiful moments of various avian species that is a gift from the almighty! I look forward to an even more exciting and colorful 2023! I take this opportunity to also thank my fellow birders for providing me with the encouragement to keep this passion going! Wishing you all a very happy, positive and colorful 2023!

When a friend sends you a photo of their new grand baby under a quilt you made and says “It is still the most beautiful blanket we have”, you just melt inside. Yes?

This was a project I started in July 2016, finished in November 2016. Just playing with rainbows and being fascinated by how the background affects the outcome.

Thank you to @jaishreestitches for sharing.
