WHO I’LL BE FANGIRLING OVER AT BOOK FAIR SYDNEY PART 1: AUTHOR EDITION! If you haven’t got tickets yet use my code TCBL10 to get 10% off! Book Fair Sydney is happening 7–8 November at Sydney Olympic Park, and you better believe I already have a list of Aussie authors I’ll be hunting down! It also happens to be the weekend before my birthday, so frankly, I’m considering the entire event an early birthday present. A VERY special shoutout to H. Z. Kore, because this will be her FIRST EVER bookish event as an attending author! 🥹👏 How bloody exciting is that?! And this is only Part 1! 👀 Who are you most excited to meet at Book Fair Sydney? 🇦🇺📚 #BookFairAustralia #BookFairAus2026 #AussieAuthors #sydneyevents

Last month I had the privilege of participating in the inaugural #ConSYDeration, hosted by the @sydneyspeculativescribes and @westwordsws. I've been attending writers conferences around the country for years and this was the first time we've had a speculative writers festival here in Sydney, so it was pretty exciting to finally have something here in my own city. Highlights for the weekend definitely included the ghost tour at Old Government House, the keynote from @sianglu_author, all the brilliant panels and readings, and the opportunity to chair the panel for the Spec Fic Industry Insights with Abigail Nathan, Veronica Holmes and Gautam Bhatia. Also I got to host my first proper workshop (!), with insights for both trad and indie authors on what they can do to support or build their own publicity campaigns. (No photos because I was not thinking ahead enough about content at the time, but trust me, it was good and people liked it lmao) Around all this was dozens of conversations and hearing about so many super cool writing projects. It was such an inspiring and creatively fulfilling weekend, and definitely exactly what I needed after missing my usual events this year (definitely see you next time GenreCon, and maybe even RWA????). But it was also a tad exhausting, hence the late post. Still, this is the stuff I look forward to all year. You should definitely come join us next year for all the fun and to immerse yourself in this talented community! #authorlyf #writing #SydneyWriters
