Another year of epic bands at our Songwriting & Art Camp! Teamwork, connection, and collaboration were the goals and these campers understood the assignment.

Over the past two weeks, our Songwriting & Art camp participants formed bands, found their sound, and wrote and performed original songs. To get to know each other, they waxed poetic about songs they love. They tried out new instruments, experimented with rhythm, discovered how lyrics can become stories, and built songs with solid structures.

This year’s original songs were inspired by women who came before us in music, future adventures ahead of us, and that old standby, teenage heartbreak.

During art, campers created a sculptural “Dolly Village” (inspired by the queen herself, Dolly Parton), which included literal punk rocks and fencing decorated with graffiti-lettering. They filled sketchbooks, created Frida Kahlo-inspired self-portraits, explored color through monochromatic studies, and learned about punk-inspired art.

We couldn’t be happier with the way our campers trusted each other, took creative risks, and were able to leave with art and music they could be proud of. That’s exactly why we love this camp so much. ❤️🎶

We didn’t want to let 2025 slip away without wishing a happy 20 years to our second album, All City. She’s a rebellious queen, and we love her!

We think she was released in 2005 but the internet tells us 2004, and who’s to say, really? It’s all a blur.

Equal parts dark and light, All City is the party and the come down, with more bangers than are really necessary. She’s giving quintessential sophomore album - stretching, experimentation, growth, and a few missteps along the way.

It’s like every song we ever heard mixed up into one wild album - our unruly middle child.

We worked with so many heavy hitters on this album including Pete Rock, Questlove, Har Mar Superstar, the GB’s, and the one and only DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill/Soul Assasins.

We camped out at the Cypress Hill compound in LA for weeks recording in Muggs’ studio where he let us (and only us) eat weed butter sandwiches in the control room.

All City brings back the confusion of navigating the collapsing major label music industry (“brace yourself girl cuz the bottom’s gonna drop out”) mixed with the excitement of breaking new musical ground.

What was the the All City era about for you? Fave songs/ lyrics?

Let’s stream her today (the EXPLICIT VERSION!) getting ready for our NYE celebrations and relive the madness and the mayhem of All City 🫶

A very Happy New Year from your girls for all seasons!

Xo
Spero, Sprout, and HP!

Tonight’s the night to PARTY!

Today, come raise a glass with us as we toast to Trust Tree‘s incredible campers and staff and raise money for scholarships and supplies for our programs at Discover Trust Tree 2025.

This is the point in the summer where we’ve seen a LOT of money go OUT to pay for everything needed to create an amazing summer experience for our campers, and we very much need to see some come IN to be able to do it all again next year! 🙏

Free admission for 18 and under, and sliding scale ticket pricing for adults. Tickets are available at the door and at the link in our bio! 🎟️

We could not be more grateful and thrilled about our food sponsors this year: Problem Child Pizza 🍕, Wright’s Barbecue 🔥, Loblolly Creamery🍦, Flake Baby 🍰, Boulevard Bread Company 🥖, and Lost Forty Brewing 🍺. Also sending a huge thank you to Zig Zag and Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub for providing entertainment and a space!

Join us for a night of drinks, camper performances, crafts, and a dance party to celebrate the creative youth of Central AR!

These kiddos have worked so hard this summer creating original songs and custom wearable artwork and we are so excited to show you what we’ve been up to in the Trust Tree!🌳🙌
