Last week’s newsletter seemed to get so many of you, with late 90s early agency life in Soho nostalgia swirling through the comments. I loved all your memories and messages, so here’s a part 2 of sorts… My boss was @louislygo , still a friend now and one of the most talented artists I’ve ever met. As creative director he had assembled a team of young talent that seemed to have been collected rather than hired, and he let the kids run at things. He talked about cool European art or incorporated graphics from The Clash and told us off for not going to enough exhibitions during work time. Being berated for not sneaking off to an exhibition whilst getting paid for it, how cool is that. “Early” newsletter in your inboxes, link in bio

Tomorrow On StoryCo: Thalia Kent-Egan. 🎬 She studied languages at Oxford, got her directing MA at Goldsmiths, and ended up in the wild west of vertical drama. She'll tell you the format runs on a bingo card of tropes. Secret billionaires. Drugged women. Sexualised storylines. She'll also tell you filmmaking shouldn't be brutal. That there's no point in egos. And that the top 14 of the top 20 vertical dramas are now AI generated. Tomorrow on StoryCo. Link in bio. #thaliakentegan #verticaldrama #filmmaking #directing #storyco
