Incredible shawarma wraps, rice boxes, and huge pots of hummus - Levantine food really is up there with the best.

This is @sqew.uk on Deansgate, owner Mitch recently visited Jordan to find the best shawarma to bring the flavours back to Manchester - including the Saj bread, an absolute must try. 😍

Next Friday 25 September, it’ll be their first birthday in Manchester and to celebrate - they’re doing £1 chicken shawarmas between 12-2pm, we’ll see you there. 🥳

THIS MICHELIN-STARRED CHEF REVEALS HIS FAVOURITE FOOD SPOTS ACROSS YORKSHIRE 👨‍🍳👀

The force behind Harrogate’s first Michelin star and the creative genius behind @fiftytworuddingpark , Chef @adamdegg has quickly established himself as one of Yorkshire’s most exciting culinary talents.

But where does a Michelin-starred chef go when he’s off the clock? 👉

Adam loves the sourdough treacle tart created by @chef_aled at the incredible @thegeneraltarleton! The perfect way to end a Sunday lunch there 🍮

@heppnibakeri a popular independent, Scandi- inspired artisan bakery in York, that @adamdegg can’t help but visit often! 🥐

@overandabove.bar is the perfect bar if you fancy sipping your way through the cocktail list! Adam recommends the clarified colada 🍹

Michelin stars aside, chefs have their guilty pleasures too- and for Adam, its shawarma from @sqew.uk in Leeds 🥙

@haxbybakehousedeli is Adam’s other favourite bakery, which he regularly visits for a coffee and delicious sourdough 🥖

@coldbathbrewing is the perfect spot for a pint of Limon, a Spanish-style citrus lager that they brew using lemon verbena from @fiftytworuddingpark’s kitchen garden 🪴

@crescipizzeria serves his favourite pizza for a reason! With that family feel and small dining room with a wood-fired oven making the pizzas that next level 🍕

Adam particularly loves restaurant @forge_middletonlodge which is deeply connected to the land around it. He favours @jakejoneschef’s cooking as he has that delicate touch 🌿

Degg highlighted that for any chef, eating out is more than just enjoying a good meal. It’s a chance to see what other chefs are doing and @pignutandthehare is high on his must try list 👀

He has his eye on @saltmoore_ as @adammaddockchef is about to launch a new fine dining concept with @callunarestaurant 🥂

Another incredible chef Adam has his eye on is @jamiekeeblechef, as he is taking over the Chef’s Table at @swintonestate 👏🏼👏🏼

And of course, we had to mention @fiftytworuddingpark as it has earned @adamdegg and his team Harrogate’s first Michelin star ⭐️

Which country does the best shawarma?

I’ve spent 10 years making it in Leeds but never spent a day finding out if I’m doing it right.

So I’ve flown halfway across the world to eat at 50 of the best and tell you exactly what I think.

Bread, char, meat, sauce, bite. Out of ten, one decimal.

Big name or backstreet, there’ll be no favourable scores.
