SEPTEMBER IN THE D COLLECTIVE 🤎 What a month. We kicked off something big - our brand-new 12-week challenge inside Skool: Paint. Post. Booked. — the step-by-step roadmap to your first paid commission. I ran 10 community sessions this month, plus 8 with my D Collective Studio family — and watched so many of you have real, tangible wins. First enquiries landed. Prices raised. Walls booked. Fears faced head-on. 💪 (And yes - I ran most of these during my "holiday" 🌴. Because I'll always show up for this community, even when I need a break.) And a big shoutout to @mrmuralslearning 🙌 — so grateful to be learning from the BEST! This is exactly why I built The D Collective. Onwards to October 💛 #thedcollective #artistcommunity #muralartist #artistmentor #creativebusiness paintpostbooked artistsofinstagram

Our brand new Priory Park Mural Project is officially open, transforming the hoardings around the theatre into an outdoor gallery celebrating local creativity 🎨 The murals have all been created by artists, community groups and schools from across the area, and the art pieces explore everything from Malvern’s landscape and history, to architecture, travel, people and places. Together, they form a collection of artworks for everyone to enjoy while our £20 million redevelopment continues behind them. We want to say a huge thank you and congratulations to all of the contributing artists who were selected in our competition to have their work displayed: 🎨 The Chase High School 🎨 Jake Bird 🎨 Colour Wheel Art Class 🎨 @squiggly.ink 🎨 @cgartelier 🎨 @benderwicksart 🎨 @enneartist 🎨 @anyasartbook and @outsidethemass 🎨 Access Education Provision Next time you’re walking through Priory Park, make sure you come and take a closer look. 👀

Wait… you’re painting WITHOUT these?? 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ We’re about to save you a LOT of frustration These are the brushes we use on every mural to get those crisp, clean lines everyone asks about. We’ve tried so many brushes… and nothing compares to Zibra brushes. You can order them online, BUT finding them at Home Depot?? Yeah… that’s a game changer. If you paint anything—walls, furniture, DIYs—go check your local Home Depot ASAP. You’ll thank us later Happy Painting 🎨 #muralist #zibrapainting #painttips #zibrabrushes #orlandoartist

How did we already complete the first quarter of 2026? . I've added some of my faves from the last 3 months here to reflect back on. Life changes so quickly, so I want to be present right now by acknowledging all the lovely humans (and dogs) in my life. . These are just joyful snippets for me to look back on in wobbly times. ❤️

Most artists think the hardest part of starting an art business is the art. Spoiler alert….It’s not! Here are 5 things we wish we knew when we started M. Lynn Creative: 1️⃣ Your friends and family probably won’t be your biggest supporters They love you… but they’re not always your ideal clients. Most of our biggest opportunities came from strangers that took a shot on us and people who discovered our work through referrals. 2️⃣ People will question your prices Not because you’re overpriced — but because most people don’t understand what goes into creative work. Your job isn’t to convince everyone. Your job is to find the people who already see the value. 3️⃣ You will feel like an imposter for a while Even after you land big projects. Confidence doesn’t magically appear — it grows every time you finish something you once thought you couldn’t do 4️⃣ The art is the easy part The real work is marketing, communication, networking, pricing, and systems. No one tells you that being an artist also means becoming a business owner. 5️⃣ Consistency will beat talent every time There are incredibly talented artists who never get opportunities. Not because they aren’t good — but because they don’t show up consistently. Posting, sharing, pitching, and building relationships is what creates momentum. SHARE with an artist friend that needs to hear this! 🎨🎨🎨 #muralist #creativeentrepeneur #womeninbusiness #smallbusinessowners #femaleentrepreneur

Revenue ≠ Profit. Our $7,700 mural turned into about $4,700 after direct expenses and taxes. And that’s before overhead. If you’ve ever felt guilty about your pricing, this is why you shouldn’t. You’re not “expensive.” You’re running a business. #muralist #womenownedbusinesses #artmatters #transparencymatters #creativebusinessowner
