Our April 2024 issue is here, with Bundeep Singh Rangar (@bundeep), co-founder of @glassventuresfund and founder of @premfina_ and @fineqia.platform, on the cover. While much of the general public might still be struggling to get a grasp of the concept of Web 3.0, Rangar -a serial entrepreneur, investor, dealmaker, and philanthropist- is choosing to go one step further- he is all set to be one of the main drivers and beneficiaries of the development of the next generation of this technology, i.e. Web 4.0. “Web 3.0 emphasized the decentralized web, where blockchain technology and decentralized protocols played a central role, emphasizing increased security, privacy, and user control,” he explains. “Web 4.0, on the other hand, advances this set-up via artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and seamless human-computer interactions.”

Also in this issue: @etro CEO Fabrizio Cardinali, who offers a peek into how he’s revitalizing the iconic Italian luxury fashion house. Plus, we take a look at the launch of @nysaamiddleeast, a joint venture between @apparelgroupofficial and @mynykaa, with insights shared by @selinaved, @falguninayar, and @thesimaved. We also look into how @lyvely co-founder and CEO @farahzafarofficial is all set to shake things up in the realm of tech and Web3. We also hear from Mohamed Alzaabi, who has created a one-stop-shop for pet care services in the UAE with @petrepublic.ae.

In our monthly roundup of the up-and-coming startups in the Dubai-based @mbrifund accelerator program, we profile Arlan BioTech and @transp.right. We also speak with @vapgroupin founder @vishalparmarvap, who explains how his firm’s propensity to stay atop tech trends has led to the launch of the @globalaishow and @globalblockchainshow. Plus, we check out the recent fundraising successes seen by ClusterLab, @mantra_chain, and Brkz.

Also included in this issue are highlights of the E-Business Awards 2024. Contributors to this edition include @getzealous’ Maryam A. Hassani (@m_a.m.h), @peopleofefs’ Taher Jhanjharya, @jrnconsultancy’s @ruwaidaabela, and @squirrelsandbears’ Petra Smith (@squirrelsbearsslovakia). You’ve seen quite a lot of my fitness journey here this year but in and amongst the bikini show and photoshoot hobbying I’ve been on a real journey in business too.

I’m currently reflecting on that journey and the whole turnaround of events since the C word landed; knocking me to the floor and throwing our business 6 feet under!

This year has welcomed more new clients, partners, and colleagues than I could have ever dreamed of having.
(Some of them pictured here) and upon some big reflection time, which the last 18 months prompted, I’ve made some pretty bold moves this last quarter in completely restructuring the business and saying a firm NO to the things that we don’t want so that we have the time and energy to say YES to the things that we do.

I used to think this choice was a luxury, reserved for those who earned their way to afford it… but I now know that is completely backwards thinking.

Because for as long as you are saying yes to the things that you don’t want just to get by… then that will attract more of the same over and over, and that is all that you will ever have time for.

For those of you that don’t run your own business, just have a think for a moment how that applies to your personal life…

Without time and energy one can’t find clarity - there’s simply no space for it - and so a busy fool (producing and attracting mediocrity and dissatisfaction) one will remain until they do something about it.

My takeaway this year is that quality matters over quantity.

And QUALITY is my word for 2022.

As of next year our business will no longer carry out services we instead provide experiences.
It’ll likely mean we work with less people, but by no means do less work, and in doing so everybody involved gets far more satisfaction and enjoyment.

And isn’t that what we’re all striving for?
More satisfaction and enjoyment in our lives?

So a little though for you this weekend 👇

💭 Which specific areas of your work and personal life could benefit from a refocus on quality and not quantity?

If you’re feeling bold enough to share then I think we’d all benefit from it in the comments below 👇

🥳 Throwing back this Thursday to last Thursday…

I wasn’t going to celebrate at all - my family had a hard time getting me to agree to a family lunch on Sunday as I’ve got so much on and I’m bloody knackered… but then at the last minute I decided in for a penny, in for a pound! 😏
… and really, life is too short not to take ANY excuse to celebrate and surround yourself with the people you love!! 💜

Massive thanks to @abarchman8 for being the catalyst for this event 😉 and @maddoxclub for accommodating my ridiculously last minute idea with just a few days notice and looking after us so all so well and making it EPIC!

Also a HUMINGOUS shoutout to the amazing Adam for giving the cake a damn good entrance!! 💥👏🥳

Thank you to all my lovely friends and clients who came to celebrate with me… I love you dearly xxx
