Phew, Guilliman done! Awesome mini, quite tricky with a lot of detail but I’m pleased with all the hard work.

Quick shout out to @ultramarine_lm (who has the best painted Guilliman on insta) for answering my questions plus @diceandpigment and @squonkles for the PMs of encouragement.

One more, I’m hoping @stibioprimaris comes back soon as he loves a Smurf 🥹

On All Hallow’s Eve, I present to you, Fabian!

I’m dead proud (pardon the pun) of this Pumpkin King, and for it being only the second thing I’ve ever painted to completion, I think I’ve done a pretty alright job of it!

Spawning from the mind of Sam over @mojo_modelling for his just-for-fun Halloween competition, I wanted to stick to natural tones for the pumpkin itself to give it some realism. I then imagined Fabian being a Ringmaster for a travelling spooky circus, hence the colours for the neck and cloak.

I’m particularly chuffed with the glowing eye effect, and the Orange Brush size 0 came in clutch right at the end 🙏🏻🧡

This lil’ project really helped me get my painting mojo back (excuse the second pun, terribly sorry) and it’s been great to have something to take my mind off the current state of my life 😅🙃🫠

So a big thanks to you, Sam, and for those who answered my questions and gave me feedback - especially the BWG bois 🫶🏻 and the Chaos Crew 💜 for listening to my straw colour woes!

I chucked a list of the paints and brushes I used below partly for my reference, but also in case anyone was curious!

Soulblight Gravelords: Barrow Guard 🎃💜

This is probably going to be my last Halloween post for October but once again I've gone with the #goldenpumpkin25 colour scheme because I just can't get enough of the colour combo!

I painted this mini for my local stores battle of the brush Halloween competition and I'm hopefully going to enter it in tomorrow (wish me luck 🤞). I'm not usually one for putting much effort into bases but I tried to give it a bit more welly this time around with some resin graves and skeleton bits, as well as some dried autumn leaves from outside for scatter.
