I've been a little quiet for a while. 🌺

Not gone—just quiet.

And somewhere in that quiet, I found myself thinking a lot about what I wanted this space to become when I was ready to return to it.

Some of you may remember this little business by another name—Lei Holu. That name will always hold a special place in my heart and represents a chapter of this journey I’m incredibly grateful for. But as my vision grew, I knew I wanted a name that could grow with it.

𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙖 speaks to connection, relationship, and the bonds we create with one another. And when I thought about why I continue to come back to this work, that word just fit. Connection through lei. Connection through teaching. Connection to culture, to community, and to the people we create for.
And so, Pilina Studio was born. 💛

When I first started making lei, I fell in love with creating something with my hands that could hold so much meaning. A celebration. A memory. A connection between people. And over the years, that love has grown into an even deeper appreciation for being able to share what I know, teach what I’ve been taught, and continue learning along the way.

So coming back this time feels a little different.

There are still lei to be made (always 💛), but I’m also giving myself permission to create beyond what I’ve done before—to play with flowers, take on new projects, teach more, gather around more tables, and see just how much room there is for Pilina to grow.

This week, growth looked like saying yes to creating three tropical floral arrangements. 🌿🌺 A little outside of what you normally see from me, a lot of figuring it out as I went, and SO much fun bringing them to life.

And honestly? It got me really excited for what’s ahead.

I don’t have every detail of this next chapter mapped out—and I think I’m okay with that. I just know I’m ready to create again, share again, teach again, and be intentional about building something I’m proud of.

So, hi again. 💛

What is Hui Mālamalama?

Hui Mālamalama is a Hawaiian culture series in Las Vegas. Classes will introduce ʻŌlelo Hawai'i (Hawaiian language), Mo'omeheu Hawai'i (Hawaiian History) and various other traditions to include Hula (Dance), Mele (Music), Hanalima (Crafts), and Ola Kino (Health & Wellness).

we got so used to pouring into everyone else
that we forgot what it feels like to be poured into too 🥹

being a mom, a wife, showing up for everyone around you… it’s so easy to lose little pieces of yourself without even realizing it

and for a long time, I didn’t even notice it happening

until I put myself in a room full of women who reminded me who I was. Who uplifted me, supported me, and saw me outside of all the roles I carry every single day 🤍

I didn’t need a whole new life
I just needed to pour back into ME again

to laugh again
to connect again
to feel like me again

First GTC experience officially down in the books ✨

and wow… I learned so much🥹

I learned to let myself experience things instead of instantly saying no, to lean in instead of holding back

I learned to just be Daysha…not mom, not wife… just me
and that version of me deserves to take up space too

I learned how important it is to make, build, and nourish real connections…the kind that inspire you, challenge you, and remind you you’re in the right room

I’m learning to allow myself to want to be in those rooms…not question it…not shrink…just own it

I’m willing to grow into a better leader…to learn more, do better, and show up differently

I’m open to trying new approaches in business…to pivoting, evolving, and not staying stuck in what’s comfortable.

and most importantly…I’m ready to bet on myself

this is just the beginning 🫶🏼✨
