Endless Possibilities In Coffee

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Melbourne is trinket, book store and coffee shop heaven. Also as a Perth girl drinking an iced takeaway drink in a clear plastic cup is a VERY exciting culinary experience 😆

—— Also featuring with GUSTATORY in our upcoming 11//26 (NOV.) subscriptions, we take another trip to Australia’s Melbourne and welcome one of its speciality coffee forefathers, St Ali.

One of Australia’s largest and most recognised independent specialty coffee roasters, @st_ali was founded in 2005 in a South Melbourne warehouse, starting roasting between cafe tables before everyone took specialty coffee seriously. Nearly 20 years on, St. Ali are still at it, still leading and still pushing. The roasters helped shape how Melbourne drinks coffee and how the world sees it. Direct relationships with farmers, in-house roasting, food that matters, magic, before magic was a thing.

Today, St. Ali operate across four countries, serve over 1,000 partners, and they’re still just getting started.

This is what my Saturday mornings are made of. One ingredient coffee and no faff.

We started using @st_ali Italo Disco at the office and I’ve since had to bring it home. It’s a smooth Italian-style espresso blend that’s not too bitter and not too sweet. What had the team hooked is that it’s delicious and versatile. Some of them drink it as a short shot, some long, and others (hi, it’s me) like it with tigernut milk. You’d hardly notice the difference between these pods and a café-style cup, which makes sense because you can find St. Ali in cafes.

If you’re after an Aussie-roasted, recyclable pod coffee that tastes delicious, comment ESPRESSO and we’ll be in your DMs with the link faster than Sabrina Carpenter on a Saturday morning playlist.

I can't lie, I am partial to the darker side of espresso; the traditional Italian way. There is something to love in the whole spectrum, but the classics keep me coming back more often than most.
