🤍 A Message of Gratitude & A New Chapter of Support

46 days.

46 days of love showing up at the door in the form of warm meals, thoughtful containers, and the kind of care that reminds you that community is everything.

To every dancer, instructor, studio family, and friend who has been part of our meal train — thank you does not feel like enough. What you gave us was not just food. It was peace of mind, energy to heal, and proof that we are not walking this road alone. We are forever moved by your generosity, sacrifices, and support. 💜 Thank you to these meal train leaders and their communities!

As G’bari’s recovery continues — and this is a long-term journey — our needs are shifting. We are now transitioning from prepared meals to home-cooked support, and we would love the community’s help in making that sustainable through at least June.

Here’s how you can show up for G’bari, Shantel, and his family right now:

🛒 Grocery Gift Cards (highly preferred)
Ralphs, Vons, or Trader Joe’s
(Virtual gift cards or physical cards both welcome)

🌿 Fresh Produce & Protein Donations
Whole, nourishing ingredients to support G’bari’s healing diet at home

🍝 Pantry Staples We Love
Pasta (penne, tagliatelle) • Rice • Canned black beans

Please avoid other canned goods — high sodium doesn’t work for G’bari’s diet

To coordinate a gift card or donation, please text Aminah directly:
📱 310-621-9070

Every little bit goes so far — not just for G’bari’s healing, but to support our family as they cook, care, and carry this season together with so much love.

Thank you for continuing to show up. This is indeed a marathon not a race, and we feel every single one of you. 🌿🤍

With love,
The G’bari clan

✨ G’BARI HAS A NEW HEART. GOD IS REAL AND SO IS THIS COMMUNITY. ✨

On April 7th, after 12 days of fighting, praying, and believing — our beloved G’bari successfully received a heart transplant. His surgeon’s words? “Couldn’t have gone better.”

We are in awe. We are grateful. We are praising God with everything we have.

But we also need to take a moment to honor YOU —

To our House, Waacking, Vogue & Ballroom, West African, Krump, Animation, and commercial dance communities in LA and the Bay — you showed up for one of your own in a way we will never forget. Fundraisers organized overnight. Studios donated. Dollars raised. Shantel driven safely to and from the hospital. Prayers said over him while he was still unconscious.

To our prayer warriors who lifted G’bari’s name every single day without fail — your faith moved mountains. We felt every single prayer. 🙏🏽

To the meal train organizers who made sure his parents and Shantel were fed, nourished, and cared for during the longest, hardest days at that hospital — you thought of everything so they didn’t have to. That is love in its purest form. 🤍

You did not hesitate. You MOVED. 💃🏽🕺🏾

Because of this community we are already at 52% of our $500K goal — and we are not stopping here.

G’bari has a long recovery road ahead. Every dollar still counts. Every share still matters.

Keep G’bari in your prayers as he heals. He has so much more dancing, teaching, and inspiring left to do. 🤍

If you pray please say a prayer for my cousin G'BARI DENZEL GILLIAM 🙏🏽

If you know anyone that prays please ask them to pray for G'BARI DENZEL GILLIAM

If your church or place of worship has a prayer list please add his name G'BARI DENZEL GILLIAM, to the prayer list.

My cousin is an amazing person, friend, dancer, mentor and example of "doing the right thing"! He collapsed on Friday, March 27, 2026 and went into cardiac arrest. He is currently @Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fighting for his life. He has been diagnosed with a rare genetic heart condition and will need a heart transplant.

With GOD ALL things are possible. Please 🙏🏽 PRAY

My nephew Gbari Gilliam is a talented, kind, and passionate young man whose life changed suddenly after going into cardiac arrest on March 27 during rehearsal for an upcoming show on Sunday. Our family is asking for prayers, support, and financial help during this very difficult and unexpected time.

Gbari graduated from UCLA in 2016 and has built a beautiful career as a professional dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor in Los Angeles. He has performed on Jimmy Kimmel and worked with Tyler Perry productions, using his gift and passion for dance to inspire others and bring joy to many lives. Gbari is known for his warm smile, strong spirit, and dedication to helping others grow through dance and creativity.

Right now, Gbari is in the hospital fighting for his life after suffering cardiac arrest. This has been devastating and overwhelming for our entire family. As he receives critical medical care and support in the ICU, medical expenses, hospital bills, and recovery costs are quickly increasing.

We are raising funds to help cover:
• Emergency medical care and hospital expenses
• ICU and treatment costs
• Rehabilitation and recovery support
• Living and support expenses during recovery
• Family travel and care support during this time

We are believing God for healing, strength, and restoration for Gbari. Every donation, prayer, and share brings hope and support to our family during this difficult season.

If you are unable to give at this time, please share this fundraiser and keep Gbari in your prayers. Your support, love, and encouragement mean everything to us.

Thank you for your Prayers and Support!
