In collaboration with 10AFEST as a programme partner, we are partnering with Stack (@stack_xyz) to bring three Thai artists to Hong Kong for a live performance at the Eaton Hotel on October 8, 2026. For more information, please visit @banga.gallery

elekhlekha อีเหละเขละขละ (@elekhlekha)is a Thai diaspora collaborative artist practice between Lenapehoking (Brooklyn) and Bangkok, consisting of artists Kengchakaj–เก่งฉกาจ and Nitcha–ณิชชา. elekhlekha อีเหละเขละขละ—Thai for “dispersed, entropy, and chaotic,” is a strategic refusal to be categorised through a Western lens. They engage in subversive storytelling by exploring non-hegemonic archives, decoding contested memories and complex histories, and unlearning systemic biases. Their work spans creating with code, algorithms, multimedia, and technology to explore and define decolonised possibilities.

Wasawat Somno (@giang_ws) is an artist working with code, sound performance, and installation. His practice is organised around the act of mapping, holding two planes of context in tension and tracing what passes between them. A computational system and the ethical questions it quietly carries. A simulation and the physical world it stands in for. An interface and the body that encounters it.

Hollow-Hare-Wallaby will be in Bangkok for two special days 🦘
❀❊✤❋❀
Patch Notes for Refusing a Fixed World, organized by Stack @stack_xyz , a Thailand-based collective platform exploring media art, critical media, and emerging technologies, will take place at Goethe Institut Thailand in Bangkok on July 11–12. Inspired by the works of Donna Haraway and Ursula K. Le Guin, the exhibition explores speculative futures, worldbuilding, and alternative ways of imagining worlds beyond linear progress, fixed identities, and technological solutionism.

Also, there is an important thing that I personally feel compelled to address. That is my criticism of the Goethe-Institut’s 2023 official statement, which focused solely on the attacks against Israel, and my opposition to the suppression of Palestinian voices and artistic expression in Germany. I also cannot accept the German government’s double standards regarding Gaza.
My criticism is directed solely at the institution’s policies, not at the individuals within the organization who oppose genocide and settler colonialism.

@ryuta_aoki_ will participate in the programme "Patch Notes That Refuse a Settled World," organized by the Thai artist collective STACK @stack_xyz in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Thailand @goetheinstitut.thailand. This is an international programme consisting of exhibitions, screenings, performances, and talks, where artists from all over the world, centering on Thailand and Southeast Asia, gather to explore moving images, media art, games, digital culture, ecology, and emerging technologies through local histories, cosmologies, myths, indigenous knowledge, and experiences.

The title originates from "patch notes" in software and gaming culture. The world is not completed all at once, but continues to be updated through care, repair, coexistence, and incessant transformation—this gaze toward a "world open to being rewritten" deeply resonates with Ryuta’s own interest in trying to launch alternative futures from lost computational cultures.

In this programme, Ryuta will take the stage as a main speaker and panelist, and a screening of Alternative Computations will also be conducted. As an extension of the exchange that has been built between Southeast Asia and Japan, we are looking forward to the birth of dialogue that transcends countries and genres.

A Japanese TV program "Conbiz! Content x Business Information Bureau" featured a dedicated segment on the activities of @ryuta_aoki_.

The program captures the cutting edge of Japan's content culture and business landscape. This episode covered a wide range of creative-industry intersections — including an innovative collaboration between @anrealage_official and Chifure — with Ryuta's practice selected as the inaugural focus of the program's newly expanded coverage of media art, for which a long-term documentary has been in production since the summer of 2025.

Highlighting his first solo exhibition "Alternative Computations," the broadcast presented the behind-the-scenes of his pursuit of "alternative computational cultures" alongside Professor Naoki Yamamoto of @keio_university, dancer @keika_misho, and tea master @ryotaro_souryou_matsumura.

Additional scenes featured the cross-border program "STACK TOKYO" with Thai audiovisual collective @stack_xyz, discussions with @fujiwara_dai (General Director, Quantum Art Festival) at Expo 2025 Osaka, a dialogue with @masakoshiba at the international ALIFE research conference, and appearances by @alltbl among others — tracing a multifaceted practice envisioning "alternative worlds" from the intersection of art and science, both in Japan and abroad.

STACK TOKYO
The Bangkok- and Chiang Mai–based collective STACK @stack_xyz presented their first-ever live performance in Japan.

Exploring how technology transforms human senses and perception, STACK has developed a diverse body of work spanning screenings, installations, performances, and publications. Rather than a fixed organization, it functions as an experimental platform that combines critical reflection with playfulness—positioning itself as a leading force in Thailand’s media art scene.

Their first Japan performance took place on September 11, 2025 (Thu) at WPU HOTEL @wpushinjuku, Shinjuku, Tokyo.

The experimental audiovisual session brought together artists from Bangkok and Tokyo, featuring STACK members alongside @kakiaraarai. Through a collision of sound, code, and motion, the performance unveiled new horizons of alternative culture.

Prior to the show, @alcoholidaysss (Big)—co-founder and curator of STACK—and @ryuta_aoki_ hosted a talk session titled “The Current State of Media Art in Bangkok.” The conversation explored the evolution of media art across Southeast Asia and the emerging possibilities between art and technology within creative networks.

Despite the record-breaking rainfall that day, nearly 100 people attended, filling the venue with an atmosphere of energy, dialogue, and creative exchange.
