We’re thrilled to present the third track from the compilation Anima Respinta dal Futuro Vol.3: “The Fog of Milan” by Vanity Productions. A composition of tape manipulation and drone acquisition, “The Fog of Milan” offers a fractured reflection of the city — a mirror where its familiar contours become blurred, distant, and strangely unfamiliar. Layers of tape, noise, and sustained tones slowly build an introspective soundscape, suspended somewhere between urban presence and disappearance. The piece features contributions from Shredded Nerve, Jackson-Pratt, and Ashley C. Christian @stadsgaard, also known as his solo moniker Vanity Productions, has become a crucial figure in the in contemporary Nordic electronic and experimental music. Emerging from the early 2000s noise scene, Stadsgaard developed a distinctive language that brings together abrasive textures, introverted melodies, and minimalist structures, shaping melancholic and existential soundscapes. As co-founder, alongside Loke Rahbek, of the influential underground label @poshisolationworld, Stadsgaard has played an important role in the evolution of the Nordic experimental scene. His work spans projects such as Damien Dubrovnik and The Empire Line, as well as collaborations including the notable 2019 album Coastal Erosion with Merzbow. Anima Respinta dal Futuro Vol.3 is the third chapter in an ongoing compilation series exploring the intersections of ambient, electroacoustic, and experimental sound. Six artists shape a fluid journey through memory, perception, and emotional landscapes. Side A opens with Martina Bertoni’s Hyades Brief, where generative systems and unstable tunings give rise to evolving harmonic forms. Doris Dana’s Mourning Dove follows as a suspended meditation on time and healing, built from drones and intimate sonic textures. Vanity Productions closes with The Fog of Milan, a blurred and melancholic reflection shaped through tape and drone. Side B turns inward. Davide Pestillo’s In Deep Waters explores states of stillness and inner depth, while Alessio Di Mezza’s Collana Rossa unfolds as a delicate, cinematic passage through memory. Inkasso concludes with Komplikation, embodying a form of controlled chaos that shapes a deep, evocative, and ever-evolving sonic journey. Anima Respinta dal Futuro Vol.3 moves between introspection and abstraction, offering a concise and immersive listening experience. Limited editions of 50-C60 clear cassettes Produced by @religius.order, @davide.pestillo, @doris__dana, @inkss.biz, @m__bertoni, @stadsgaard Mastered by @frankagrario101 at @spectrummastering Artwork by @alessio.di.mezza_art Pre-order cassette + digital and preview on bio!

Crash Club this Saturday at 8 PM. The One Behind Me explores the shifting nature of identity, questioning the possibility of authenticity. By interweaving the pleasure of looking with solitude, the performance asks whether identifying with an image can turn the spectator into a mirror reflection that co-creates the meaning of the performing body, ultimately leaving them with a sense of unknowing. Performance, choreography @paulinepawlowska Live sound design: Digital Data @digital.data_, featuring a track by @stadsgaard Styling: Naga @naga.xmisyk Video: @krzysztomalecki Produced by Krupa Art Foundation & supported by @whoispolagallery

At the start of the year this was but a twinkle in our eye, and now, here we are! New Ruins, this weekend. It’s been nothing short of a honour to pull this programme up out of the muck. Thanks to the whole team, a serious effort and I think the perfect indication of where we are at with the direction of our programme right now. Already excited for next year 😍

Release Date: 28/08/2026 “Northern Electronics presents ’The Vanity Project’, the new LP by Vanity Productions. Like a fractured reflection, images appear distorted and incomplete. A series of fragments revealing influences, methods, and decisions where life and work remain inseparable. Moving through the residual noise of contemporary media space, Christian Stadsgaard draws from social media remnants, dark web transmissions, and untreated human sound. These elements are processed through noise electronics and tape manipulation, collapsing source and signal. ’The Vanity Project’ is constructed as a dense, uneven surface. A collage of found sound, environmental interference, and emotional residue. www.spacecadets.world // @northernelectronics // @stadsgaard // @anthony.linell
