๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ THE LINES ON THE MAP MATTER. Who decides where district lines are drawn? How does redistricting shape political representation? And what happens when incarcerated populations are included in the numbers used to determine representation? These are important civic questions that can have a direct impact on communities, neighborhoods, schools, resources, and elected leadership. Join us Thursday, August 20th at 6PM for โ€œLines That Lead,โ€ the next Civics & Conversation, where weโ€™ll make redistricting easier to understand and explore how the lines that define our districts can influence the way communities are represented. โ˜• Come curious. Bring your questions. Grab your favorite drink and be part of the conversation. Because civic engagement starts with understanding. When we understand how the map is drawn, we better understand how representation works and how our voices fit into the bigger picture. ๐Ÿงฉ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ Come learn. Come connect. Come be part of the conversation. #GreatDayLatte #UpliftMobile #LinesThatLead #CivicsAndConversation #Redistricting #CivicEducation #CivicEngagement #PoliticalRepresentation #CommunityVoice #MobileAL #MobileAlabama #InformedCommunity #CommunityEmpowerment

๐Ÿ—ณ ELECTION GUIDE FOR UPCOMING SPECIAL CONGRESSIONAL PRIMARY IMPACTING BALDWIN AND MOBILE COUNTIES All registered Baldwin and Mobile County voters can go to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 11, to select their choice for the Republican nominee for Alabama's First Congressional District after a Supreme Court ruling paved the way for a new (old) map of the state's U.S. House of Representatives districts to be used. In Alabama, you do not have to declare a political party, meaning you can choose any party's ballot in a primary. Since this is a new primary, it doesn't matter which ballot you chose in May. There is only one Democrat running for this seat, so there is no special primary for it. More info about this and more in the comments!
