Congratulations to all the runners who took part in today's @bmovanmarathon 8k, half marathon and marathon event. The BMO Vancouver Marathon is one of the world's top destination races and for a good reason...this is a beautiful place. Regardless of your finish time, you should be proud of yourselves for getting out there. It is an honor and a privilege to volunteer as a pacer. This year, I was pacing the 2 hour group and it was a lot of fun (as always). I've paced at this event many times and loved every minute of it. Just because I am not able to run a personal best at this time, doesn't mean that I can't give value to the running community by pacing at my favorite events. Rather than being sad that I haven't been able to run a personal best, I can be happy that I get the pleasure of doing this: cheering for other runners on the course, encouraging them to keep going when the going gets tough and help them reach their goal. The course is beautiful, the weather was fabulous and the volunteers and event organizers did an amazing job. I promised people at the start line that we would be across within a minute under 2 hours. Of course, when we pace, it is based on chip time. I'm so proud that there were a few people in my group doing their first half this year and they went on ahead of the group in the last few km absolutely smashing their 2 hour goal. It was also awesome to see my friend @stantherunningman and many other familiar faces. I delivered a 1:59:19...keeping my promise. It went exactly as planned and I knew where all the hills were. 🏃‍♀️ I hope to be back next year!! PS. If your goal is to break a 2 hour half marathon, I'd love to help you. TC10K 2025 🔥 Excuse the novel 😉 I had initially planned to race this year, but when my goal of getting faster began to manifest into some unhealthy choices, I realized it was time to take a step back and focus on rediscovering my ‘why’ for running. Instead, I had the opportunity to join the race committee, and honestly, I’ll never see a race the same way again. While I only played a small role, over the past few weeks I saw just how nonstop, demanding, sometimes chaotic — and incredibly rewarding — the behind-the-scenes work really is. But perhaps the most eye-opening part, was being tuned into the course radio during the race. When I’m racing, I’m stuck in my own little bubble — so focused on chasing a personal goal that I lose sight of everything happening around me. But yesterday, I saw the bigger picture: behind every second of the event, there’s a team, problem-solving in real time — making quick decisions, ensuring safety, and handling logistics to make sure the race goes off without a hitch. This experience gave me a whole new appreciation for how much collaboration and teamwork goes into creating something that feels so seamless on the outside. But more importantly, it reminded me that running isn’t just about your finish time. It’s about the shared energy of the community, the joy of being part of something bigger than yourself, and ultimately, understanding that being able to run, at any pace, is a gift. A huge thank you to @mariah_kelly1 for bringing me on board for this rodeo show and for leading the charge on such an incredible event that inspired so many in so many ways. And a huge congratulations to everyone who ran, walked, organized, volunteered, and showed up yesterday, making this event what it was. Exhausted, but very grateful. ♥️ @tc10k @runsportyyj

Clover Point parkrun 316 April 5th, 2025 Well, spring is definitely in the air - it was a colourful day down at Clover Point, as our 136 participants brought out their spring wear on a beautiful Saturday morning. We were joined by lots of out of towners from the UK, Alberta and elsewhere in B.C., including 11 participants completing their very first parkruns with us - welcome! The good weather also brought out the speed, as 19 of our participants set new personal bests. Well done! First finishers (officially) were Peter Dukes and Grace Watkins in 18:53 and 21:11, respectively. Our guy @joecrazylegs was wandering around taking photos - you may have heard he does that from time to time. 😉 We’ve selected a few here, but there are more in our album at the link in our profile. Big thanks as always to our volunteers Joseph CAMILLERI, Ellen CHEN, Brian CONNON, Diana CULVER, Mary Jane HENDERSON, Mike LAGADYN, Ed MACDONALD, Mark MIELE, Sean MITCHELL, Karen SEYFFARTH, Chris WILLE and Mary WILSON. If you’d like to volunteer at an upcoming event, just send us an email and we’ll get you sorted. See you all next week! #loveparkrun #cloverpointparkrun #parkrunhappy

The morning runs are getting a bit blurry 🤣 Never want to go at 05:15…. In bed, all cozy, writing your excuse to the group in your head … but then you remembered you promised your friend who is driving in from town & it forces you out of bed … quickly put on run gear before you change your mind … by 07:15 you are totally proud of getting it done and tell yourself you’re NEVER gonna listen to pillow-head-you … but you know you just might 😬 #dohardthings #noexcuses #accountability #badass #bcrt @westshoretrailrunners
