POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

"Five long years ago, TWO YEAR BREAK were jumping through hoops to record their beast of an album Do You Wanna Find Love?, an album that doubles up as a warp-speed outburst and an outpouring of vulnerability and honesty, a prime example of the band’s refusal to stay in one box."

With anniversary cake at the ready, we celebrated five years of Two Year Break's album Do You Wanna Find Love? Check out the full review on our site, with support from The Monday Smile.

"Near Oxford street, tucked away from the superficial glitz and glamour, we venture down into the belly of The 100 Club, an iconic venue and beacon for punk-rockers, for MERYL STREEK’s intimate show for the release of his latest album Stories They Don’t Teach You At School, a ferocious album that rips apart the “slimy politics” of today and the disillusionment sweeping through the common people exhausted by constant bad news. This was a night for punks of all ages to get educated and embrace rage."

We headed over to The 100 Club for Meryl Streek's unrelentingly punk album release show. Check out the full review on our site, with support from Shooting Daggers.

"By the time WREX took to the stage, half the support acts had hurriedly joined the audience (the rest still loading out their gear), showing themselves as industry colleagues and heartfelt fans as everyone moved straight into headbanging and jumping to quick-fire S.A.D., singers Mae Seaton and George Donoghue harmonising and trading off vocal sections whilst touring drummer Greg Walton locked in and looked thrilled to bring an onslaught of drum beats to Consume."

Steaming through their headline tour, we headed to London to catch WREX. Check out our full review on our site, with support from Neversaid, Inner Dog + FACEOVER.

"The Lady Luck is filled back to the doors now, to the point fans are having to stand practically on the side of the stage just to get a glimpse of headliners DESIRE/LINES. Describing themselves as “fuzz” rock, the homegrown Canterbury quartet weave inspired grunge rhythms into iconic emo hooks and sentiments."

We skipped the Bake-Off to watch Desire/Lines cook on their headline show at The Lady Luck, Canterbury. Full review is on our site, featuring support from Retail Parks + Tailblock.

Daffodildos came to The Grace armed with bright colours, big riffs and absolutely no patience for creeps, transphobes or assorted people who need to get in the bin.

The Brighton trio kicked off Be N!ce’s final UK tour date with ‘Park Bench Creep’, ‘Never Enough’, ‘Transphobic Trevor’, ‘Get In The Bin’ and ‘Rebel Ian’, earning themselves a sizeable mosh pit along the way.

Be N!ce closed out their UK headline tour at The Grace exactly how you’d hope: packed room, huge singalongs, ridiculous DMs turned into songs, and one last glorious mosh.

"Inspired by giants of the 90s movement such as NIRVANA and SOUNDGARDEN, they’ve also incorporated alt-rock elements that were based on their love for PINK FLOYD and SMASHING PUMPKINS. From an assortment of genres, EAST EXCHANGE have carved out their own sound that sits on the edge of nostalgia without feeling like a replica of the bands that came before them." - Julia Stark

We caught up with Liverpool grunge quartet East Exchange following the release of their debut EP, torn between ties.

Full interview is available to read on our site.

Impossible to know where to look: @french_toast_band at @ladyluckbar 👀

Punk, synthy post-punk, jazz and theatre pulled into something completely their own, with Lyly Riott everywhere at once. Powerful, emotional, unsettling and ridiculously entertaining live.

Third gig of the weekend. Still bringing the A-game. @wearewrex at @ladyluckbar⚡

London on Saturday, Brighton on Sunday afternoon, Canterbury on Sunday night, and you genuinely would not have known this was their third set on very little sleep. Huge chemistry, huge energy. Absolute heroes.

Home turf and full force: The Calaveras at @ladyluckbar, Canterbury 🔥

The local side of a five-band Sunday bill that brought Canterbury together with artists travelling in from much further afield. Exactly the sort of grassroots meeting point we want a LOUD WOMEN night to be.

The floor was shaking: @luxurynansmell at @ladyluckbar, Canterbury, 6 Sept 💥

Visceral math-punk, bone-shuddering guitars and that cathartic live energy that makes Luxury Nan Smell such a perfect fit for The Lady Luck. Rose Davies and Emily Doyle throwing themselves into it while the room throws it straight back.

Impossibly cool: @ilovebillricky at @ladyluckbar, Canterbury 💋

After raising the roof in Dublin and winning new fans within seconds in London, the Nova Scotia six-piece closed out their first international tour with us in Canterbury. Exceptional musicians, country-punk swagger and one very excellent Sunday night. Bill Ricky forever.
