2020 has made me realize a lot. Friends come and go in life and each one has their own opinion of what friendship should look like. I’ve always tried to be what I think of as a good friend to anyone that I’m close to, because I know how important it is to me.

I’ve realized that in this day and age, during this pandemic, there’s no difference between your “Real Life” friends and “Internet” friends. We all have a screen between us now. It doesn’t matter where you’re getting your love and support from as long as you’re getting it.

Don’t get me wrong, the internet can be a terrible place. I recently had someone who hardly knows me, post an open ended question in their story, literally baiting people into asking about it, so that she could then talk shit about me.

But these platforms can also bring incredible communities together. It can bring a smile to a strangers face, it can educate people and change perspectives, it can help people get through hard times by finding people going through the same circumstances.

I’ve also realized I’m too hard on myself and I worry too much about what other people think. I’m always putting others ahead of myself and have so much I am grateful for! I’ve raised over $50,000 in 5 years for @dearjackhq to support adolescent and young adult cancer patients and that is definitely something to be proud of!

THANK YOU to everyone that helped get me through this year! If you texted just to say you missed me, if you called to check on me, if you were in a zoom call with me and made me laugh, if you thought of me and sent me something to make me smile, if you liked a post purely out of loyalty and support, if you commented to throw me some love, if you read a meaningful post all the way to the bottom, THANK YOU!

These tiny kind gestures that may not be that important to you, can make all the difference in someone’s day and ultimately their life, so spread kindness!

Huge shout out to my truly loyal friends, your friendship is everything to me and I am beyond grateful that you’re in my life! I appreciate and love you so much more than you know!!! I’ve got friends who will help me pull through💕

Happy new year??

Love for Leukemia has raised $50,566 in 5 years for young adults and adolescents with cancer through @dearjackhq! My EXTREMELY hard work has paid off and raised enough money to fully fund TWENTY LIFE LISTS for AYA cancer patients! I started Love for Leukemia based on the idea that I had love to give in an effort to raise awareness and money for young adults and adolescents with cancer. I put in A LOT of physical labor, time, and money to create a business for a charity. I’m a massage therapist so I started off my first year making candles, doing chair massages at festivals, and hosting shows at my Dad’s bar to benefit The Dear Jack Foundation. I somehow, single-handedly raised $25,000 my first year. Realizing quickly after my second fundraising season started that I had burned out all my contacts, I had to get creative and started doing art festivals selling my DIY pieces. Shortly after that I started gaining momentum again, and some VERY special people started dropping into my life. I’ve met the most incredible people that I would have never crossed paths with if it weren’t for @amnthewilderness. I fundraise for community. This AMAZING community has the most selfless, kind humans that I’ve ever met in my entire you life. You all inspire me every day and I love you all from the bottom of my heart. We are just these people ❤️ Happy tangled lives 🖤
It’s been a lot of work but the most rewarding experience of my life and I couldn’t have done it without a little help from my friends!
