A long time coming.

For everyone in Oregon’s cannabis industry who has been affected by these robberies, the business owners, the employees, the families, and the people who have had to live with the fear, loss and uncertainty, this is a significant development.

The Multnomah County DA has announced indictments against 15 people allegedly connected to a series of dispensary and warehouse burglaries across the Portland area.

Behind every one of these crimes are real people. Businesses that people have poured their lives into. Employees who deserve to feel safe at work. Families and communities that have carried the weight of all this. And don’t forget, the bills don’t stop because someone drove a car through your building.

I’m glad to see progress toward accountability. But I also have questions.

Have all the people involved been identified? Is this the beginning of the end, or is there still more to come? And what does justice look like for the people and businesses that have been living through this?

The investigation is still ongoing, and charges are not convictions. But for an industry that has been through so much, this is an important development.

Here’s hoping this brings answers, accountability, and some peace of mind to the people who deserve it.

How are the businesses doing that we’re getting hit? Do we know who these people are? What are your thoughts?

The people behind these businesses matter and I’m glad to finally see some movement.

One of the harder things do organic growers to navigate over the last few years has been the changing landscape around heavy metals.

Whatever your opinion on the rules, the reality is that they’ve changed what many of us can comfortably use in our soils programs. Most farms have just plain stopped using organic nutrients.

I’ve always believed in building soil 1st,
Biology, organic matter, local inputs, and letting the soil do most of the work.

That’s why I love the @the_og_bioag products so much.
I don’t look at these products as a replacement for a living soil program. I see them as tools to help get more out of the soil we already built.

We’re not trying to grow better, not more.

And sometimes growing better means finding new tools without losing sight of the way you wanted to grow in the 1st place.

I’m tired of seeing posts that celebrate how big a cannabis company got instead of how good their product is.

Scale isn’t the flex people think it is. We’ve watched companies come into Oregon, chase scale, and leave when the market got harder.

Support the farms you want to still be here in 5 years.

This industry needs
Better, Not More.

The Oregon pesticide registration list has a lot of changes right now, including some of the Athena products listed as cancelled for 2026.

Hey @athena.ag any word on what’s going on? Im just curious. It doesn’t seem like rooting compound and sanitizer specifically are even that big of a deal considering the other products on the list have the same exact ingredients listed.

Oregon growers, check the list and let me know what you see. It’s always changing.

Sometimes growing plants is just…
Sticking a broken top into a pot of soil and seeing what happens:)

I broke this top off this plant about a month ago and basically just left it.

The top died literally died šŸ˜‚

But underneath that, it rooted and formed new growth that sprouted into this.

I honestly don’t remember which plant it came from but I love this little clone:) I’m going to grow it out and see what happens.

This is exactly why I love plants so much. They’re resilient. Life wants to live. And they constantly surprise the hell out of me.

Maybe this becomes the strongest, most epic plant ever, or maybe it doesn’t.

Either way let’s see what happens!🌱

The older I get, the more I realize that relationships are worth more than convenience.

Today I needed a 20 foot U-Haul truck and every one we could find was booked. Josh and CJ over @ohanagardenhydro started making calls until they found one, then Kline from @klinecultivation drove me all the way to Otis to pick it up.

You can’t click ā€œAdd to Cartā€ and get people who genuinely care whether you succeed.

Support the businesses that answer the phone, know your name, and show up when you need them. Those are the relationships worth investing in.

Who’s a local business that’s gone above and beyond for you? Tag them below. I’d love to discover more people doing good work. šŸ‘‡

For years I’ve spent my time showing up to hearings, reading draft rules, and fighting for this plant. Even when there are only a handful of people in the room.

Why?

Because I believe adults should hate freedom to choose plant based options if that’s what works for them.

In my own life hemp has become something I value, that works, and I want adults to continue having access to it. That’s why I keep renewing my licenses, growing, and speaking up when the industry is under pressure.

You don’t have to agree with me, but I hope we can agree that people deserve choices, honest information, and regulation that makes sense. Not fearing getting in trouble for using a plant medicine.

I’ll keep showing upšŸŒ±šŸ’š

What’s your perspective on hemp?

Don’t spend your time building soil if you’re ignoring the water that goes into it. šŸ’¦šŸŒ±

Most municipal water contains chlorine or chloramines. They’re important for keeping drinking water safe, but they can also work against the beneficial biology we’re trying to build in our soil.

One thing I’ve been doing is adding @the_og_bioag Ful-Humix liquid to my water. Humics can help reduce the impact of chlorine and chloramines while adding organic carbon that supports healthy soil biology.

If you’re running drippers, FulPower is another great option because it’s less likely to leave residue in emitters. You will however need to up the amount.

I’ve been using BioAg products for years. They have helped me win multiple cups and I appreciate that they’re an Oregon company. If you’re going to pick some up considering from your local grow store. I get mine from @ohanagardenhydro because I like supporting local businesses that support local growers. @hedberg.josh is also an amazing and knowledgeable rep for the company if you have questions.

Clean water. Healthy soil. Better plants.

Do you do any treatment to your water?
