We did it! (Mostly!) This past weekend @sewtartthe2nd @statusthimble and I took an incredibly informative workshop with @gatti_napoleon_historical @fortligonier making 18th century breeches. While we do a lot of sewing, menswear and tailoring was new to all of us, and Sam was an excellent teacher. We maintain that breeches construction is just the weirdest way to make pants, but we understand it at least moderately now.

Any bets on when we’ll actually sit down and make our buttonholes?

Here's the reveal of Queen Ashley (as she's now known in our house) at 12th Night.

This was an honor. I only tossed a few stitches in, but to be a part of something filled with so much love, to make someone feel beautiful and the way we all see her.....wow

I love all of you girls, you saved me when I needed saving and I will love you until the end of my days. I can't wait until we're together again.

The #monochrome theme of #fallforcostume2025 really gave me some issues, as I couldn't find anything interesting and really totally monochromatic in our archives until I remembered our black embroidered sheer wool that the super talented @statusthimble used about 3 years ago for a regency gown. Old but gold I'd say 😉

The Edgewood Historical Society and SwissvaleYinz present Restless Residence: A Haunted House History Workshop on Tuesday, October 21 at 6:30 p.m.!

We’ll gather at the Edgewood Club to share spooky stories and dig into local hauntings, rumors, and unexplained events.

Researchers will be on hand to look for clues if you would like to investigate a mystery. Consider telling a story if you’ve experienced something eerie or heard rumors about your home you’d like to explore.

👻Please register if you are interested in telling a brief story (2-3 minutes) for our event: https://bit.ly/SpookyEdgewood
