Zurawski Motorsport VW 1.8T 20v engine swap kit and cheapest K04 turbo you can have on ebay and results are not only great but absolutely hilarious with the funniest turbo chatter noise I have ever heard, proper early star wars laser blaster "rebel scums" use sound effect !

Sound testing a cheapest Chinese K04 turbo in the MR2 MK3 vw 1.8T swap, std turbo started to give up after probably 15 years so this one was a left over from another build I have quickly put on out of curiosity of how will it perform. Completely different chu chu noises, still very cool.
@stav_tech yes it needs more boost but like you said it does sound nothing like the old one!

VW 1.8 turbo swapped MR2 MK3 in car noises and 6 speed 02M gearbox shifting with std MR2 shifter. "normal" relaxed use, circuit use shifting can be much quicker.
