Next week our walls (those not filled with books) are given over to the wonderful @ewandavideason and his exhibition ‘Sacred Cities’ inspired in part by the Charles Booth poverty maps with a glittery slant and feature of our local neck of the (Vicky Park) woods.

Pop in for a coffee or glass of wine and check it out. Or join us for a gilding workshop with Ewan on Tuesday evening the 25th Feb.

Check out what we’re up to and join us to while away those winter evenings.

Thank you @newbloodart for featuring🫶🏼

Here’s a selection of writing from Maggie, it’s amazing when seeing people writing for whats in my mind,
through another perspectives, and experience.

Rather, these spacious, elevating paintings set out to give states of feeling and connection lost in translation, exhibiting a “sense of connection with the environment, inspired by a gesture of nature, and the syntax of human experience. It is an ecology of the senses.”

The titles of these paintings are bridges through the air: not necessarily leading anywhere tangible, but providing some footing. The painterly is foregrounded, the brushwork – all that it evokes – lightly deployed. Sometimes blank spaces will be left, suggesting there is more to be seen, felt or done: active participation is invited. In others the artist will paint all the way to the border, creating immersion. Take the molecular magnificence of ‘Mist’ or the substance of ‘Chaos’.

“Norwegian wood 1,2”

Recent exhibition in London
Thanks everyone for coming and it’s kinda surprised with the unexpected discussion on Haruki Murakami.

It’s not about the content in Norwegian wood, or more than that it could be.

So does Norwegian wood is not about Norwegian wood anyways.

Lost in translation

Thank you for making this happen ! @swanfall_art

It’s been a great couple of weeks
Met a few great artists had a few drinks
My family came through
Both old and new
This time last year, I was going through one of the lows,
Looking back now if only I knew

So excited about what’s to come
My babies got a new home
Thanks to everyone that has a piece of me
As you are investing in a future I am very excited to see
