POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I can’t emphasize enough how fast time flies when you’re gathered with a bunch of creative baddies and letting loose in the @magpiecreativereuse classroom. Did you miss it? I’ll be back later this month to make beetles. See you then. Xo

Some days the work looks like a toddler painting on your lap.

Like figuring out that red and white makes pink — and it matches her shirt perfectly.

Like sitting with the mamas while the kids play. Nobody needs anything. Just stories shared over scraps of paper and spoken to new faces.

Like weaving in a room that has quietly become my favorite place. A rhythm that brought sense out of a really senseless season.

At Art House Grandview, we have a mission. We want to help you make something. We want to know your name and your kid’s name. And we never want money to be the reason you aren’t creating.

Quarter 2 classes are coming.

Music. Art. Theater. All of it.

We’d love for you to be the first to know — mailing list link in bio.

Such a fun afternoon creating with Gina of @stellarjstudios! ✂️🏡✨

Gina brings such wonderful energy to the studio—her enthusiastic, encouraging teaching style makes everyone feel welcome, at ease, and ready to simply play and create.

We spent the afternoon making our whimsical “Collaged Comfort Cottages,” layering papers, textures, colors, and all kinds of mixed-media goodness. Each little cottage took on a personality and story of its own!

And there’s more creative goodness coming… Gina will be back at Bluebird Studio on November 1st for another wonderful workshop, “Story Stitching.” 🧵✨

We’ll be sharing all the details very soon… stay tuned!

So much creativity is on the horizon at Bluebird Studio!

We have a wonderful lineup of workshops planned for this month and beyond—and there’s even more goodness in the works!

I’m having such fun collaborating with inspiring artists and dreaming up new opportunities to gather, create, learn, play, and connect.

There’s something pretty magical about a table filled with creative souls, art supplies scattered about, and the beautiful energy that happens when we make something together. 💙

Loneliness is quiet. It doesn't announce itself — it just slowly takes the seat next to you.

Working here, we've noticed how many things in a week pull us away from being creative and from being together. So this semester we wanted to build something that does the opposite.

Our dear friend Gina @stellarjstudios is hosting our Junk Journaling and Conversations class. You come, you make something with your hands, and you talk. That's the whole class. We're hoping what gets built isn't just a journal — it's real community.

Junk Journaling and Conversations
Tuesdays, 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Begins Tuesday, September 8
714 Main Street
Ages 15+ · $60 for six weeks
Childcare is available on site during class!

No experience needed. Bring nothing but yourself — supplies are provided (and coffee)

Scholarships & Registration Links are available in our BIO!

Twelve of your neighbors are teaching twenty-three classes this fall.

That’s the whole idea. Wendell Berry wrote that “a good community is a good local economy” (Sex, Economy, Freedom & Community, 1993), and we took him at his word. In a world that lost its third places, we built one out of art. Not home. Not work. The third one — where you walk in, somebody knows your name, and you leave with something you made.

Nobody at the door is checking whether you’re an artist.

MONEY IS NOT THE GATE

Group guitar, piano, and drum classes are Pay What You Can. You enter the amount that works for your family at checkout. No form, no code, no conversation.

Art and theatre classes have scholarships. We fund as many as we can each quarter. Email info@arthousegrandview.com and we will send you the form. We would rather you ask than assume the answer is no.

You have said it out loud at least once this year. That you used to play. That you always wanted to try.

This is the time.

A beautiful day of creating unfolded in the studio as Gina of @stellarjstudios guided us through the process of making our very own journals from scratch. It truly felt like a little bit of magic.

We began by covering an assortment of papers with playful marks, layers, and color—transforming simple pages into something uniquely our own. From there, we prepared the spine of a Reader’s Digest book before folding, binding, and stitching our painted papers together into handmade journals.

The finishing touch was a small collage adorning the cover of each book, giving every journal its own personality and story before a single page had even been filled.

No two journals were alike, yet every one was beautiful. Now comes perhaps the best part—the quiet joy of filling those pages with whatever each heart desires… thoughts, sketches, memories, dreams, and little bits of everyday wonder.

A delightful evening spent around the table with these lovelies, each immersed in the pages of their own art/junk journals they brought to the Adventures of Art/Junk Journaling workshop, hosted by Gina of @stellarjstudios.

Every journal was so unique in its style—filled with collected treasures, meaningful bits of ephemera, layers of color, and stories waiting to be told.

It was an evening of creativity, conversation, inspiration, and the simple joy of making together.

There truly is something special about gathering with kindred spirits to create. 💙
