📚✨ SIX MONTHS OF @reconcilingmybooks ✨📚

When I started this page six months ago, I thought it would just be a cute little digital journal for me to track my reads, and maybe I’d get to yap to some friends about books we’re reading. Little did I know the #bookstagram community is the absolute best, full of wonderful, kind, smart humans. 🥲 I have had such a blast getting to know everyone and finding some true friends in this cozy corner of the internet 🥰 it only feels right to celebrate by shouting out some pages I love, run by friends I’ve made over the last six months 💖 I’m so so happy to be here, and thank you for continuing to yap with me about all things bookish 🥹

Thanks to @letterstojaine for tagging me in the Bookstagram Throwback Story Challenge! It is always fun looking back at how this all started.

✨ When did you start your bookstagram? I started my bookstagram in August 2025, and so far have managed a post a day which I am really proud of!

☁️ Why did you start? I’m a lifelong book worm and book hoarder, I’d been lucky enough to get some ARCs and felt like I owed the authors whatever I could give them to help them market their books, so I started a Bookstagram. My husband would argue that it was his idea for months and I finally gave in.

💌 What inspired your username? I actually did my first reel on this! “a quick succession of busy nothings” is a quote from Mansfield Park by Jane Austen, my favourite author.

📖 What was the first book you reviewed? Oh god, I didn’t know this I had to check! It was Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins.

💗 What’s your favorite part about bookstagram? Getting to know not only indie authors, but also fellow readers and build an actual community with other book lovers.

⭐ Favorite recent reads? Ooh I’m so so bad at picking favourites! Recent favourites as in 2026? I mean, obviously my reread of The Broken Kingdoms are all 5 stars, so was Veins of Power, The Godslayer, The Riven Altar, The Glass Between the Tides... Argh I could keep going!
