Three weeks ago today, I lost one of my best friends to suicide.

These past few weeks have been incredibly difficult. Your mind constantly asks what you could have done differently, even when you know there was nothing you could have done.

I think about D every single day.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and in honor of that, I was nominated for the DQ Don’t Quit 6:14 Plank Challenge. I have nine herniated discs and dislocated my shoulder two years ago, but @bernardquisumbing reminded me that any effort counts ❤️‍🩹

So today, I completed a 60-second and 14-second plank (74 seconds) in honor of D 🕊️

This challenge means a lot to me. Losing D has been incredibly painful. We shared a lot of tough and vulnerable conversations over the years. I wish we could have more. I wish every day that this wasn’t real.

I think it’s important to have conversations like these. They can be uncomfortable, but talking about how we feel is so important for our mental health.

Today, I held the longest plank I’ve held since my shoulder injury for my best friend, who should still be here.

Please, don’t quit.
