Too late to post Chicago Marathon weekend photos? Never!

Still riding the marathon high from a weekend in CHI with the @running_joyfully crew! And getting excited to start marathon training myself again - 6 months til Boston 2027!

Happy #MedalMonday - let’s celebrate our Chicago Marathon performances! Despite the heat, our crew still had some big PR days!

@hellonwiehls led the way with a 5+ minute PR, running an amazing 2:41 as she gets closer and closer to the Olympic Trials qualifying standard. The key? Heat acclimation, a stellar training block, curiosity, glitter, and flamingos on the race kit🦩

@runmamarun_ahc also put together a beautiful build. She’s PRed from the mile to the marathon this year, and executed a near-perfect Chicago to run her first sub-3, emptying the tank and clocking 2:58 for a 4 minute PR (impressively, at 1 year postpartum!!)!

@runlikelizzie also had a near-perfect build coming off a little injury hiccup in the spring. With her great training block, she and Coach @kace.pace knew she was ready to run a special race! She balanced going for it and holding back due to the weather, and rode the red line all the way to the finish for a 6 minute PR, running 3:08. We can’t wait for when she gets a cooler day to race!

@anna.ratliff ran well on a tough day to PR, staying strong through the heat, unexpected stops, and fatigue. Her training predicted a slam dunk PR, and she and Coach @morethanmiles_coaching know in cooler weather, she’ll get that. Most remarkably, Anna kept her pace quick in the last 10 miles when the going got tough. Cheers to a 90 second PR and a 3:16!

@mokennon encountered illness and injury hiccups in the final weeks of her otherwise flawless build, but she is one DETERMINED woman and she was going to PR no matter what! She ran a super 3:46 to take 34 minutes (!!) off her PR in her first marathon since having twins. Imagine what she can do on race day when she’s not sick! 💪

It was also a PR day for @lauren.buben after an extremely successful and consistent training block. With even splits and careful pacing, Lauren trimmed nearly 2 minutes off her PR to run 3:49, an incredible feat given the heat!

@brookemacomber earned her 5th star ⭐️ to run a small PR of 3:11. With a consistent, healthy buildup and smart pacing, she had a great day out and we’re excited for her upcoming 6th star!

Congrats, team! ⚡️

It’s my first time away from my baby girl and I’m feeling all the feels 😭

While I miss her immensely, I’m choosing this time apart so I can be here, in Chicago, supporting so many amazing mother runners. Moms chasing big dreams and showing their kiddos what it looks like to run them down.

I’m showing my baby girl that too! 🤍

And next year, she’ll be here with me, when I toe the line with big goals of my own!

After our @running_joyfully shakeout today, my cup is full! (So are the boobs! - time to go pump! IYKYK!).

Chicago Marathon coaching duties on deck tomorrow! Catch me around mile 4.5 and 11.5, and at the finish!

Race week in Chicago.

Stephanie Garcia’s start line is for measuring against herself and running her race, not anyone else’s. No better place to do it than in Chicago.

For former pro runner Stephanie Garcia, the finish line looks different these days. It’s no longer about beating the field, but competing with who she was yesterday and showing her kids what resilience in action looks like.

Focus on the process not the product...unless the process is the product.

Coach @steph_steeples recently spoke with @outside_run about ditching the GPS watch (or at least not being so tied to the data on your wrist!⌚️)

As Steph shares, obsessing over data can be a joy-stealer. As coaches, we’re here to dig into the data on your behalf, help you learn what metrics to focus on and what to ignore, and how to avoid anxiety spiraling every time you look at your watch.

To our moms 🩵

To those in every season of motherhood, whether you’re running through pregnancy, postpartum, or parenthood.

To those who are planning marathons around positive pregnancy tests, who are logging miles wearing a belly band with a lil hitchhiker in utero, and who are building back postpartum, one run/walk at a time.

To those training with the stroller, on the treadmill during nap time, squeezing in miles after preschool drop off - we see you fitting in training whenever/wherever you can!

To those with bigger kids now, who are biking alongside Mom while you run or even joining you on the run now, having watched Mom train and cheered her for many years.

To those who’ve raised runners, and are now running around cross country courses cheering on their kids, or who are running half marathons and marathons with their grown children, sharing miles together in a new way.

To those who are still waiting to become mothers, to those who’ve experienced loss along the way, to those trying and hoping - we see you too, and hope your miles today bring you some peace and comfort.

Whatever season of motherhood you’re in, we celebrate you today, #motherrunners! 💕 Happy, happy Mother’s Day!

🌸 April Racing Roundup 🌸

Coast to coast and across the pond, we were running PRs in April!

Coach @steph_steeples supported our crew racing at @cucb, where @anna.ratliff ran a course PR and @runninphotog returned to racing with a stellar performance.

Jess took on the trails at the Ancient Lakes 25k in Washington, while @_natalie_gail tackled a trail 10k in her new home in Michigan as she rebuilds fitness postpartum 💪

Speaking of postpartum, @ajenks527 ran a postpartum PR at the Chesire Half Marathon, running a super 1:54 (barely off her lifetime PR) while balancing a busy work schedule with motherhood (and inevitable sick kiddos). Bravo, Amanda!!

@lsolecki and Sarah both raced the Helderberg to Hudson Half and came away with big PRs, with Laura running 1:32 for a 3 min PR and Sarah running 1:49 for a 7 min PR! 🥳

Barb tackled 13.1 at age 72 and ran joyfully side by side with her son, running 2:18 and winning her age group! 🥇

@amysemes won the Vintage Park Half in Houston on a hot humid day, soloing a 1:30 half to get the 🏆!

@podium_mom had been on a roll this spring, finishing on the podium in 🥉 at the @carlsbad5000 masters 5k in 17:29 and setting a lifetime PR in the 1500m, running 4:41 🔥

And we had many teammates throw down PRs and gritty races in Jersey City, Boston, London, and Eugene! ⭐️

Congrats, team! 🩵
