Congratulations to the new group of Aerial Gallery artists! Bridging the Arts District and Fremont St along the eight blocks of the 1st St Art Trail, the banners feature works by Sol Martinez, Tatsiana Harbacheuskaya, Quindo Miller, Lille Allen, Stephanie Sumler, Shan Michael Evans, Christina Monique Flores-Escobar and Cida de Aragon. I very much enjoyed working with the artists on this City of Las Vegas project, designed to enhance the urban streetscape of downtown Las Vegas. #artslv #lasvegasartists

There was my first 'Listening Tree' public art sculpture for the Wetlands Park and Nature Preserve in Las Vegas created in 2025. Then inspired by the Namingha Institute at the Museum of North Arizona one much bigger was built as part of a five piece exhibition. Now I'm working on something brand new and bigger for the Desert Biennial Project FLUX for 2027. I'd like to share my journey with you from the beginning.

This was a 7k budget, with Clark County Public Arts, and a small crew of Vegas locals. I had this on my list since last month and finally had a chance to go. “Til the Wheels Fall Off” is a powerful exhibit celebrating Black car culture and its role in the history of Black travel in America. Hosted by Commissioner McCurdy and @ccpublicarts Office. From the story behind The Negro Motorist Green Book to incredible local artwork and photos of Vegas car clubs — it’s giving culture, history, and community all in one space. My sculpture is officially installed at Clark County Wetlands Park for SOUND, the 5th Annual Temporary Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. This project has been an exploration of sound as a physical form—built from vintage audio equipment and inspired by the idea of how sound moves from signal to vibration. What makes this installation especially exciting is its setting. Instead of amplifying music, the sculpture now sits within the living soundscape of the wetlands—wind through the reeds, birds, insects, and water becoming the real soundtrack. If you’re free, come out to the Art Social and opening to meet me and the other nine artists whose work is part of this year’s exhibition. It’s a beautiful place to walk, experience art outdoors, and celebrate creativity in nature. Clark County Wetlands Park March 14, 2026 10 AM to Noon Hope to see some friendly faces there! Yesterday, my illustrator and I were invited to attend Whitney Library's 2nd Annual Black Author's Panel. We used this opportunity to debut our book to the public. Busilak - My titas used to call me “busilak” (boo-see-lahk) in Tagalog when I was a little girl. As a biracial (Filipina and German) child, I had a very light complexion, hence my aunties used to say I was “snow white” or “white flower”. This piece is dedicated to my late father, Ernesto DeGoma Lopez, who was from the Philippines. He passed away from pancreatic cancer when I was 3 years old. I depicted myself when I was 3, during the time of his passing. I am wearing his Judo kimono, as martial arts is a tradition on the Filipino side of my family. Lopez means “wolf”, and a symbol of my father whose energy and memory has helped carry and protect me even in his passing. Both he and I share the same astrological sign, Capricorn, with our birthdays only being 2 days apart. Saturn and the Bakunawa (ouroburos) are symbols connected to our astrological sign, and also represent death and rebirth/cycle of life. This will be on display February 5 at the Clark County Library alongside other incredibly talented Filipinx artists! See you at the show! ❤️❤️
