POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My daughter started dancing with her first competition team this year, and seeing her dance has had me reflecting on my own 25 year dance career ❤️

Watching her practice every day, performing on stage, seeing the joy that comes from learning new dances, takes me right back to those moments I experienced for myself.

I think about all the years spent in the studio, the countless hours of practice, the friendships, the people I met along the way, the feeling of standing backstage waiting for your turn to perform and the rush of adrenaline as the music starts and the movement just flows. There’s really nothing like it.

It’s been 6 years since | last danced, and when I look back, I realize dance gave me so much more than just the ability to move. It taught me discipline, dedication, resilience, confidence, and how to keep showing up even when things were hard. I was blessed with teachers who taught me lessons that extended far beyond the studio and shaped so much of who I am today. I made memories, formed friendships, and experienced things that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

For 25 years, dance was such a big part of my world, my whole world, and sometimes I don’t think l fully understood just how much of a gift it was. Now, getting to watch my daughter fall in love with it in her own way, I get to see it from the other side - being the mom who supports her daughter along the way cheering her on from the audience.

I’m so grateful for every season, every lesson, every person, every stage, and every memory. What a blessing it was to live those years, and what an even greater blessing it is to watch a little piece of that love carry on through my girl.

Forever grateful for the years I had living and breathing dance every moment, and for all the ways it helped shape the person I’ve become. Now, I can’t wait to spend my days being my daughter’s biggest fan, whether that’s in dance or whatever she chooses to do in life 💗

Love meeting team EDD? Today we have the lovely Stephanie, one of our guest artists for the 25’-26’ season💜

A movement visionary who transformed her formal modern dance education into a multi-faceted career, Stephanie Golden weaves between roles as a dance company founder, award-winning choreographer, and sought-after technique teacher, bringing contemporary artistry to both traditional stages and digital screens across the Pacific coast. She has been a part of EDD for 6 years now🌟

Stephanie is excited to teach because of how kind and hard working the students and faculty are at EDD, and appreciates how it is a safe space for creativity and growth for students.

Stephanie’s insight is that failure is a crucial step on the path to mastery, teaching us resilience and paving the way for future success. Her goal for the year is to hopefully continue to inspire dancers to keep falling in love with dance.

there’s no possible way i could summarize my time at EDD with 10 pictures and a paragraph. these 8 years have been one big rollercoaster of emotions, experiences, and friendships. i’ve learned how to push myself out of my small comfort zone and dance has always been that special outlet for me to do so. all of my teammates, teachers, and family have been such a big part of my dance journey and i will be forever grateful for you all. there isn’t much else i can say with just words, but, thank you @elizabethsdancedimensions for everything you’ve given me. #EDD4L also enjoy a little snip of my own solo i choreographed from recital :)

Tomorrow is an exciting day as it is recital, but it is also the last time I will perform with EDD. I have has been dancing at EDD for 8 years now and it has been an incredible journey. My favorite thing about being on team has been all the relationships I made with my teammates and all the experiences and opportunities I got to learn (especially DFAC). After my back injury, I wasn’t sure how I would continue to dance the same, but I made a quick recovery and worked my way back up. I will miss my EDD family SO much, thank you guys for everything and I love all of you forever. #EDD4L 💜💜💜💜✨
