stee turns 32 today <3 i took these portraits in our apartment a couple weeks ago and when i got the scans i was really hit with the beautiful passing of time.

this is the seventh birthday i’ve celebrated him. i feel honoured to know all the different versions of him he has grown into since we met and to catch glimpses of the past versions i didn’t know. i look forward to meeting every version of himself he will grow to be. being with stephen is having warm cup of coffee in the sunshine and a silly dance in a gentle rain. <3

Another Community Week staff spotlight because we can’t talk about this community without talking about @janeva.faircloth 🤍

Janeva is one of those people who has a way of making a space feel more cared for just by being in it, whether she’s teaching, tending to the plants, sharing her sound practice, or somehow becoming the resident vacuum (who she’s coined “baby blue”) enthusiast.

Find Janeva on the schedule Tuesdays + Thursdays. And yes, the rumours are true: her classes have a bit of a following…come see why 👀

You only really discover certain corners of this city when you're willing to wander - and it's even better when Toronto is wrapped in that warm evening light. Better still when you experience it with other people.

This Saturday, powered by UrbanArts as part of their X&Os initiative, we're opening JUST A GAME - a multi-sport art exhibition that explores the cultures surrounding sport. It's about community, identity, style, pre-game rituals, unexpected encounters, and all the stories that exist beyond the final whistle.

We'll be taking over Artscape Weston Commons - just a quick 20-minute ride on the UP Express from downtown—with an incredible lineup of artists, music, drinks, and refreshments.

While you're there, make an afternoon of it. Grab some Bahamian food from Old Nassau, explore the exhibition, and check out the rest of the programming happening as part of the UrbanArts × X&Os initiative, running July 24–31.

Come discover a part of the city you might not know - and a side of sport you may not have seen before.

JUST A GAME opens July 25 with a launch event from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Following the opening, the exhibition will be open daily from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Much love to Basketball Canada, Athlete Institute & All Canadian Games, and DARBY Magazine for believing in the vision and helping make this project possible.

For the full lineup and event details, head to xandos.ca.
