Vintage birds & botanical illustrations are still one of the biggest sources of inspirations for my designs 🕊️ As a child I used to practice drawing with colored pencils and pastels using these as references and still circle back to them now.

In this weeks episode of the This is a Metaphor Podcast— @stephenzanephoto, owner of the wildly cool @coastalfilmlab, talks about negative film, negative spaces and a positive mindset. As the wildly successful analog film studio in Ybor City is getting closer to its 5th year in business and celebrating a (physically) growing studio space, we talked about the creative brain, and the need to give things room to be. Be it metaphorical or literal—space is a necessity when it comes to any creative pursuit.

we are so grateful for every one of the 1,400 rolls in the lab right now! it’s because of you 🫵 that we are able to grow our lil lab 🥹

our next door space is almost move in ready which means we’ll be making some big changes to our turnaround time very soon 🚧

we need some time to move and upgrade our infrastructure & with the recent high demand in rushes we’ve had the past couple of days… we temporarily need to increase our rush prices so we can get on track to give you the BEST & FASTEST scans in Tampa Bay!

now for the part I’ve been dreading to type out…
• 3-Day Rushes are $20/roll &
• 1-Day Rushes will be $30
for the next 3 weeks!!! 🩵

we are so excited for all the things we have planned for Coastal Film Lab for summer 2026 and we appreciate your patience as we grow 🌱

It's me again ♥️ Finding myself in a place where everything is simultaneously changing and staying the same. Somehow been over 15 years since made my first feather dress and 4 years since my first baby. Eagerly anticipating welcoming this new blessing into our lives. And taking apart the iconic never ending purple dress again and adding different feathers because apparently that's a thing I do every year or so.

Which scanner is which! 🎞️ Frontier V Noritsu
Do these names mean anything to you? They should! These two legendary film lab scanners have shaped how people think of film photography. If you’ve seen a film photo on a screen, it’s thanks to one of these amazing machines.

FUJI FRONTIER: The choice for a high-contrast, saturated, and stylized look right out of the gate. Great for well-exposed color negative film, portraits, and a punchy aesthetic.

NORITSU: Built for flexibility and dynamic range. It handles underexposed, expired, tricky lighting, black and white, and E-6 slide film with grace, giving you a flatter, more versatile file for heavy editing.

We use both at Coastal to make sure your film gets the best possible look every time.

Which scanner is your go-to? Let us know in the comments!

We had an incredible time exploring St. Petersburg with the amazing folks at @coastalfilmlab and the film community of Florida!

The photowalk gave us a chance to slow down, notice the little things, and connect with so many creatives in the area. From historic streets to golden-hour skateparks, every moment was worth capturing.

A huge thank you to Coastal Film Lab for hosting us and for the warm welcome. Your passion for film and photography made the day unforgettable!

And if you were there that day, let us know in the comments what your favorite moment from the walk was! We can’t wait to come back!
