Finding the right pointe shoes is a process — and sometimes it takes a lot of time, patience, and trying different options.

A pointe shoe needs to do more than simply fit. It needs to feel right in movement, provide the support a dancer needs, work with the individual foot, and create a beautiful line.

As @rockandrolife continues preparing for @yagp , we tried several different pairs, rehearsing sections of her competition variation in each one. Seeing the shoes in actual movement helped us compare not only how they felt, but also how they looked on her feet and complemented her lines.

Our search continued at Step N Stretch, where we spent more time fitting, trying, and comparing different options.

🩰After all the testing, we chose @nikolayworld pointe shoes. Now it’s time to dance in them and continue the preparation!

💜A special thank you to @stepnstretch for the time, patience, and care throughout the fitting.

Another little step on the road to YAGP… ✨

✨ One of the most exciting milestones in a young dancer’s ballet journey — the first pair of pointe shoes.

But pointe work begins long before the first fitting. It comes after years of building proper technique, strength, alignment, and control — and every dancer reaches this milestone in her own time.

From finding the right pair at Step N Stretch to those first carefully guided exercises at the barre, we support our dancers through every step of this important transition.

🤍 A special thank you to @stepnstretch for taking such wonderful care of our dancers during their fittings.

As a Nikolay World @nikolayworld Partner School, Minnesota Ballet School is proud to work with Nikolay and to introduce our students to pointe work with an emphasis on proper preparation, individual readiness, and strong classical technique.

✨ First pointe shoes are more than a new pair of shoes — they mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter in a dancer’s training.
