🌟 CONGRATULATIONS 🌟

What a talented bunch! 💃🕺❤️

A huge congratulations to everyone who took to floor this weekend as part of our competitions🥇🥈🥉

We’re so proud of everyone who pushed themselves and competed - we know it’s not an easy thing to do 🥹👏

📸 A few of our winners couldn’t make the awards night and aren’t pictured (or were too busy dancing and missed the memo 😆)

Most WCS communities don’t struggle when they’re small.

They struggle when they start to grow.

Around ~50 people, things quietly change:
- the same few people carry more
- leadership gets heavy
- burnout creeps in (even with good intentions)

@yiehahn recently shared the real story of how West Coast Swing Malaysia grew — what nearly stalled us, what actually helped, and why many growing scenes across Asia hit the same ceiling — on the Level Up West Coast Swing Podcast with @stevefitzlive

One idea that stayed with us:
We can all be champions — just in different ways.

Not everyone leads.
Not everyone teaches or DJs.
Healthy communities grow when people contribute where they’re strong — not where they feel pressured.

This conversation also explains why @myswingopen is built the way it is — and why we’re introducing the Community Leaders Conference in 2026.

This term we worked on adding pulse/ breath to our dancing, as well as experimenting with rhythm variations. For funsie we created a choreo to show our students how to be more musical while just sticking to foundational patterns 😊 Can you believe they learned all of this in 50 mins 🤯
