Empowering the next generation!

The Child-Youth Transformation and Development (CYTD) had the honour of guiding university youths under @helptohelpse boot camp through a journey of self-leadership. Using our transformative tool rooted in Participatory Action Research (PAR) young people are learning to set clear, value-driven goals, unlocking their inner potential, and preparing to lead their communities with purpose.

We believe in raising strategic and self-oriented leaders for Tanzania’s future. 💡💪

🤝 Let’s partner to nurture transformative leadership together!

CYTD participated in the launch of Tanzania’s Agricultural Mechanisation Strategy (TAMS II 2025/26–2035/36) during the FAO Sustainable Agricultural Mechanisation Conference in Dar es Salaam. The engagement strengthened CYTD’s access to national priorities, technical partners, and practical innovations. These insights are now guiding CYTD’s youth programs to equip young people with mechanised farming skills, access to modern tools, and agribusiness pathways. With measurable outcomes in productivity and income, CYTD is positioning youth as drivers of Tanzania’s agricultural transformation.

At CYTD, we don't just celebrate days; we build sustainable community ecosystems that protect and empower our children. As we head into the grand finale of our Day of the African Child commemoration tomorrow, June 12th, let’s look at the incredible outcomes achieved over the last 48 hours in Mwembesongo Ward:

🔥 Day 1: Marketplaces & Bodaboda Hubs Transformed Our graduate-led, CYTD-empowered Child Marriage-Free Community Committee took to the streets! They didn't just share information. They sparked mindset transformation among local traders and youth motorcycle taxi (Bodaboda) riders, turning key community influencers into active protectors against child marriage.

⚽ Day 2: Unity Through Action at the Inter-School Sports Bonanza We used the power of sports leadership to bring schools together! Through active competition and teamwork, we fostered a sense of agency, resilience, and child rights advocacy among the youth, proving that sports is a vital vehicle for social change.

🌟 Day 3 (Tomorrow, June 12th): The Grand Climax! We are breaking barriers and bridging the gap between grassroots community action and law enforcement. We are deeply honored to announce that the Regional Police Commander (RPC) of Morogoro will join us as our Guest of Honor at Mwembesongo Ward!

Together with the RPC, community leaders, and the youth, we are reinforcing our collective accountability to create a safe, vibrant, and value-driven environment for every child.

Stay tuned as we continue to move from community sensitization to sustainable, long-term impact! 🤝👇

Building Climate Champions at Bigwa Ward in Morogoro 🌱

Today, 9 Youth Community Working Group (YCWG) members were empowered with practical climate action skills, leadership knowledge, and tools to develop community-driven solutions.

Through the training, participants developed a one-year climate action plan that will guide local environmental initiatives under the support of the Bigwa Ward Executive Officer’s Office, with CYTD providing technical mentorship.

This investment in 9 youth leaders is designed to create a wider ripple effect reaching more community members through awareness, climate actions, and locally led sustainability initiatives.

By empowering communities to lead their own solutions, we are strengthening ownership, accountability, and long-term impact for climate resilience.

A DAY WE WON'T FORGET: MH VISITS CYTD IN MOROGORO!

This week, our partners from Mennonitisches Hilfswerk (MH) walked the very ground our Youth Community Working Groups have been transforming in Kilakala and Bigwa wards and what a homecoming it was!

From tree-lined school compounds to thriving youth-led community projects, MH saw first-hand what happens when young people are trusted, trained, and given the tools to lead:

🌳 2,500 trees planted and growing strong 18 youth climate & community ambassadors across 2 wards 3 primary schools, 1 secondary school & a Folk Development Centre reached and educated 2 community working groups, empowered and still going strong

But the real story isn't the numbers it's the young people of Kilakala and Bigwa who showed up, organized their peers, and are now leading change in their own community. That's the CYTD way: we don't do development FOR the community, we walk WITH the community as it builds its own future.

To our friends at MH, asante sana (thank you so much) for believing in our children and youth, for making the journey to Morogoro, and for seeing this work not as a project, but as a partnership.

This visit isn't the end of a chapter, it's the start of the next one. Watch this space.
