This past July we gathered an all star crew, with one big surprise guest, to travel to Nashville and film Eric Slick (@strangeamerica ’s) #612MusicVideoResidency interview. And what a beautiful time it was, full of sweet reunions.

A few words from Eric: “In March of this year, I applied for the @612okc Music Video Residency Grant and, to my bewilderment, I actually got it.
What has transpired since then is a revitalized sense of creativity, a huge relief for my budget, and some new friends whom I admire completely. They filmed a mini-documentary at my house and you might notice some familiar faces in here (I’m mostly talking about my chorkie Mo). Steven Drozd just about gave me a heart attack when he surprised me at the house and I was blown away that after all these years we actually got to jam together. Much love to everyone at SixTwelve. You’ve changed my life for the better.”

Eric’s new record, Bounce House, comes out March 5, 2027!

Huge thanks to the team on this one:

In 2004, The Flaming Lips recorded a song for SpongeBob SquarePants movie.

Bradley Beesley co-directed the video, along with Wayne Coyne, and hired a lot of our talented friends - Mark Miks, George Sledge, Craig Byrom, Missy Clemens, Michelle Marchessault, etc.

Bradley asked me to shoot the making of and I had no idea how big a production it was... or how much fun it was going to be.

We rented a hangar at the Austin Film Society and filled it with a pirate ship, bubble machine, and a huge slobbering mouth. Then we added the Flaming Lips and a bunch of cameras...

What followed was two days of madness. I remember smiling so much that my face hurt. And also that the video didn't come out for many years. I don't think they released it until almost 10 years later, in 2013.

I'm not sure what ever became of this making of video, but it's another one of the highlights of my time in Austin, working with friends, making art, and celebrating a band that I love.
