Happy Joe Bob Day, everyone. There's something of a bittersweet feeling knowing it's the second to last Joe Bob on Shudder, though I am excited for what's coming next after the new year, whatever it might be. I was thinking back to how far things have come since the 2024 Jamboree here in Vegas, which was literally the one good thing about 2024 that happened to me. And then I think about where I am now, even though I still have a long way to go in my recovery, but I'm really thankful I'm still alive, and even more thankful for the amazing people to have come into my life since.

I have to credit these three amazing women in particular for making the Jamboree weekend a wonderful one (@linneaquigley, @stevensbrinke, and @michellebauerofficial). They made me feel so appreciated and loved, and I will never forget that.

Shock Cinema was a fun horror documentary series hosted by legendary Scream Queen Brinke Stevens!!!! It had 4 different Volumes that were directed by Robert Hayes & J.R. Bookwalter. It featured interviews with Charles Band, David DeCoteau, Jeff Burr, Fred Olen Ray, Scott Spiegel, C. Courtney Joyner, J.R. Bookwalter, Linnea Quigley, Karen Russell, Forrest J. Ackerman, Robert Quarry, Michelle Bauer, Richard Gabai, Jan-Michael Vincent, & so many others. I think they are all currently streaming on Tubi if you are curious. This is a great collection with some nice additional extras. I always enjoyed Volume back in the day. Have YOU seen any of these horror documentaries before???? #shockcinema #shockcinemavolumeone #shockcinemavolumetwo #shockcinemavolumethree #shockcinemavolumefour

I posted all kinds of Vinegar Syndrome stuff during my vacation on here the last few weeks but here's the non Vinegar Syndrome stuff besides my new VS wallet which is awesome from my Denver retail store visit. I'll post all of these separately for the Today's Haul Instagram page later on but here's the entire boutique label haul. I showed support to the HorrorPack, Kino Lorber, Retromedia & Makeflix. Plus I got the "unofficial" Texas Chainsaw Massacre universe feature Butcher Boys from Germany's Mad Dimension for only $4. It's always awesome to be all region, that was a great deal considering it doesn't have a Blu Ray in the states here. I will be going back to Vinegar Syndrome Denver next year for sure. Have YOU seen any of these before???? #retromedia #makeflix #kinolorber #horrorpack #maddimension

Another announcement…..

Legendary scream queen Brinke Stevens (@stevensbrinke ) is the newest to the @reelnorthmedia family and it’s a huge honour to have her aboard.

I knew Brinke from The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) it was one of those films that I watched way too early and enjoyed too much. Playing Linda, and death by power drill, what a way to go.

Also she stars with 2 other of my clients, Michelle Bower in Bowl-A-Rama (1988) and reprising her role Taffy in the sequel and Vincent M. Ward in Death House (2017).

If you want to book Brinke for your convention or event drop me over an email:

Mick@reelnorhmedia.co.uk

I look forward to hearing from you.

Getting older is such a strange thing to wrap your head around sometimes.

Last night was the first public screening and Blu-ray release party for a film called “Dark Romances” that I made with some friends 40 years ago! It was a horror anthology that we shot in the late 80s and although it had a small VHS release back in the day, I’d largely forgotten about it.

I wrote and directed the “Cardinal Sin” episode of this anthology when I was 23 years old. I made lifelong friendships on that project and it was truly an era in the LA filmmaking scene that no longer exists. I was initially ambivalent about showing up for the Q&A as I had put this chapter of my life largely behind me but once I got there, I was really glad to keep an open mind and see some old friends which truly warmed my heart. We were all so much younger then and it was really mind blowing to see such a happy and full audience who had only heard about this obscure film, but I realized that it was now their cool discovery and it belonged to them, not living in my mind as a dusty, dim memory.

A big shout out has to go out to Daniel Del Pozzo of @culture_shockreleasing for rescuing this pioneering video feature from obscurity and oblivion. Thanks also to @whammyanalogmedia which is a great micro cinema in the heart of LA and to the lovely @stevensbrinke who is always a pleasure to see!

So great to see my old pals John, Barry and Pat. Hard to believe that this film is a “thing” 40 years later… ❤️

What an honor it is to have @stevensbrinke -horror icon and incredible overall talent record a PSA for our “Sharks Aren’t So Scary” Campaign. This will be running on my podcasts and I put this little video together to make it more social media friendly.

I worked with Brinke a little with my band Freak13® doing some video and convention work in the early 2000s and learned of her love of marine biology. When I came up with the idea for the campaign she was the first person I thought of.

Thanks Brinke! We appreciate you.

Please share this so people can learn sharks really aren’t so scary! (Chester Moore) #sharks #gulfgreatwhitesharks #greatwhiteshark
